When you go out on sunny days what do you prefer to bring: Umbrella or hat?

I never wear a hat, especially not in hot weather, because I perspire profusely from the head. I also think women prefer not to hear a hat because it flattens the hair style. I avoid the sun but if I spend time in the sun, I'll use an umbrella. I never wear a raincoat. Once again, it is always too hot to wear a raincoat, so I use an umbrella.

Hi jlamela, You are with valid points that an umbrella can protect you both from UV rays and rain and I have observed that in comparison to men women are more used in carrying umbrellas. As for me. I never do carry one unless it is raining and sure it would not cease soon. I have lost four umbrellas so far. As I am not used to carry it so whenever the rain stops I have to fold it up and usually there would be no carry bag to put it in and if on the way sat somewhere for a cup of tea or coffee would leave it there and lose it thus. So no umbrella as far as possible.

I choose a hat, because I like wearing hat. If I use umbrella, I might look like Rihanna. Beside, a hat is more portable and easy to use.

Well I prefer to bring umbrella along with me rather than wearing a hat.It doesn't suit me at all.Weather keeps changing out here.Temperature is hot and then it will start raining all of a sudden.So, I always need to be prepared if I am going out.Umbrella protects me from getting drench in rain as well as harmful UV rays in the hot sun.Moreover I have very sensitive skin, my doctor advised me to go out less in the hot sun to stop further damage to my skin.So you see, I always need an umbrealla with me

I prefer to bring umbrela also because when the weather is sunny, it helps me to protect my skin from the ultra violent rays produce by the sun. which is not good for our skin. the umbrella completely protects my whole skin by it's shadow and cover from top. Then one good thing in umbrella is the another porpouse of it which can be able to use when the weather condition begin to change and became rainny. which can be able to use still rather than your hat because hat is no longer to be use when it is rainning. well that is all my response. happy posting and enjoy mylot.

I prefer to use umbrella because it give more protection. Hat only protects your head while umbrella protects your whole body. I live in a tropical country, so umbrella is a must if you don't wanna get burned.

On sunny days you wouldn't bring an umbrella, but a parasol . That aside, I would more likely wear a hat than to take a parasol along when going for a walk in extreme hot temperature. When it's raining I do prefer an umbrella because it protects not only your head but basicly your whole body.

neither of them. coz it's troublesome for me. i'm very careless, i've lost 4 or 5 umbrellas in the rainy days. i think i'll lose more if i use umbrellas in the sunny days. and i believe that i feel hotter if i use a umbrella under the strong sunshine, the same to the hat. i just face the sunshine directly. i know it's not good for the skin. so i always avoid getting out during the daytime of summer.

i prefer to bring my hat because im not really comfortable in bringing bulky things like umbrella because i tend to forgot them and eventually lose it somewhere thats why i prefer to bring my hat or cap besides its very handy to be with and i cant lose because it just hangs in my head all the time. LOL!

Hi, jlamela. I will usually just wear a hat if possible. I guess the reason why people don't like bringing an umbrella is because, they think it may make them look old fashioned. When we was walking in town, my grandmother had an umbrella walking with in the hot sun. I was so ashamed. I thought that it looked weird to have an umbrella up when it was not raining. I was so ashamed. But then I found out that an umbrella does major wonders in keeping the sun off of you. It is less hot and more cooler this way. It is better than having a hat. An hat can make your hair sweat out if you walk in the long hot sun. I have seen young and older people use umbrellas for the hot sun. It helps a lot especially of you do a lot of walking in the hot sun.

i think i will bring the umbrella and in the place where i live people especially the women often like to bring umbrella to avoid to be burned.as to the hat,i think i don't like to wear it and it's difficult to find a nice one for me and i don't like to look for the trouble just for a hat.
