I know it is getting close to that time of year when we start thinking about Christmas. I try to sit down and make out a Christmas Card list. Usually the list is for family and close friends. Most of the family I can hand deliver to them, but I do have some that I mail. For the friends list I always mail those. I get such a good response by mailing them. It is like they really get excited that they get a Card in the mail...Do you mail or hand deliver those Christmas Cards?

I've done christmas cards for friends but don't anymore. I'll probably pick that up. As for cards, they'd probably be mailed out as just for the reason you said the excitement the people experience once getting a card in the mail... it's more fun if you ask me.

Do you have a wal*greens near you? They have cards around Christmas in boxes and the boxes of christmas cards are not that bad at all! I just thought I'd suggest it. I got a box one year and loved the cards. I'm getting excited myself, but don't have many people to send cards too! lol!

I do a bit of both. Last year I was not able to post out cards, I was really busy and I procrastinated and left it too late. Imagine my surprise when not one of the people (friends?) I normally post to overseas sent me a card. I had to wonder if they only sent one if they received one first.

Hi MsTickle
I believe like you. I think some people won't send out cards unless they receive one first. I don't that way. What happen to giving is a blessing. Im going to send out my cards this year for the purpose of me thinking of them. I hope that I get one in return. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Have a great day and keep smiling my friend.

If I am going to see people, I hand deliver them. If not, I mail them. I saves some on the stamps.

Hi thououghrob
Thanks for your response. Yeah I do the same also. Heck I have been guilty of saying to someone if you see so and so would you give them this card for me. I know that might not be right but sometimes it works.
Have a nice day and keep smiling my friend.

I usually send my Christmas cards in the mail. I know there are cheaper ways, and a lot of people just do e-mail Christmas cards, but I think it is nice when people know you care enough to go to the trouble of getting, writing, and sending an actual card. Of course since my parents live near me I can just hand them the Christmas cards. Everyone else though gets the Christmas cards I send them through the mail.
*Note that I am not insinuating people who send e-cards as Christmas cards do not care. I don't want to offend anyone who is thinking I meant that as an insult.

You are welcome...I too love getting those cards in the mail. I think it shows that you are thinking about them if it is just for a thought. I usually mail to the ones that are out of town or the ones I don't see that often. You have a great day and keep smiling my friend...smoochessssssssssss

I used to mail out a lot of Christmas cards. Back then postage wasn't nearly what it is now. Just mailing out a few Christmas cards now can cost a small fortune. Now i prefer to give out my Christmas cards personally. Sometimes I will even give them with a Christmas gift.

Hi sender
When it comes to the close family I usually will give them there cards in person. I try to do this ahead of time instead of right on christmas day. I know what you mean about the cost to mail. Isn't that horrible...You have a great day and keep smiling..

mailout out christmas cards was one of the first things i cut back on last year when things had already begun getting even tighter for us. i do not buy them anymore or send them as a way to save money. just need to put the money towards other more important things that we need.

I can see where you are coming from. This year will be the toughest year for us too. I still will send out those cards. I might not be able to give the gifts like I use to but I can send them a card. Thanks for sharing.

Hi bunnybon
It is hard to put the money in the cards. I know that it is for us this year. With us trying to find a place and hubby just getting to work. Wow what a crazy time of year. I just hope that it all works out good for us. I wish you the best and thanks for your comment..

I have not got time to write everyones name and then send them all off so I rather give it to them personally as it's better and shows more respect! Not only that but the feeling is better too if you understand! I give out cards at around 5 December and onwards so I can start preparing now lol because sometimes I make the cards myself

Yes, Im making my list now. That way I can go get the cards early before the store runs out. I found a store that I can get a box of them for only a dollar. I wont have ll the expense all at the same time. Thanks for sharing...

I think I would prefer calling or visiting them and hand out my Christmas card. At least I would have time to chat with them and have a real fun. :-)

Hi sharlionse
You have a good point there. I think that the ones that I deliver I will make it a time that I can stay and chat for awhile. That would make that card a more special. All the rest I will have to mail. Thanks for sharing.

I usually have about 30 cards to send out. This year I think I might have a few more than that. I get about that many in return. I still have the cards from last year. Thanks for your thoughts. Have a nice day.

HI Rosepedal,
Nowadays I never send out any christmas cards to my friends and families.
When I was studied at my primary and high school, I used to send and hand out christmas cards to my friends. To my classmates, I will just hand out to them by putting the card in the desk drawer. If to my friend out of town, then I will send it to them by post.
After graduating from my high school, I never send out any christmas cards again till now.
Sometimes, I just send e-cards to my friends, very rarely.

Hi shia
Sending e-cards is a good thing to do too. It is saying that you have or are thinking of them. That is my main goal for sending out cards. To let them know that I still think of them. Thanks for sharing and have a great day.

My close friends live in my town, I usually deliver it to them as well as the people who I work with. When I am sending out christmas cards, when there are people who live in my town or close to it, but have not kept in touch with them for a while, I would send it in the mail. For relatives and friends out of state, I send it in the mail.

What I do is give out to the family members that I see every week. Then the other family I will mail the cards to them. My friends I always mail to them. They like the thought that I put into mailing their card. Thanks for sharing fitforlife and have a nice day.

I hand most of mine out or pass them on through friends.I do have few to post but we used to post a lot at one stage but quite a few relatives have passed away over the last five years.I actually went through our christmas card list last year and there were not many left,it is times like this that you realise how small the world is getting.Apart from that our post office workers are going on strike quite soon.I don't blame the post office either ,they are making everybodies post rounds longer and stop paying over time, some of these post people will have to walk over ten miles a day and are having thier vans taken away as well.My goodness these are people they will end up taking a paycut because they will work nearly three hours a day with out pay.We get terrible weather in England ,most of the rounds are in country areas.mile's with out a house, down country lanes on their own .I certainly would not fancy it,I can tell you.

Hi suzzy
I totally agree with you. Time with family needs to be a special time. You never know when. Times are really tough right now and we all need to give a lending hand. Not so much as money but friends to listen is a big help. Thanks for sharing and you have a great day my friend.

OMG is it that time already??
My mum is the one that usually does all the Christmas card sending. She just rings me and says "who do you want to get a card" and I'll be like "whoever mum" and she says "ok" and she sends hundreds of them..
I'll probably just send an e-card to one or two friends but am too lazy to do that so got mum to do that for me

I typically mail all of my Christmas cards. This year though, now that I'm married, it's going to cost an arm and a leg in postage to send all of those cards! I love doing it though, so I still will. I just feel like it's more exciting to receive a card in the mail.

I have to do one by post as they live miles away from me,but all the other cards i tend to take myself to my friends as i think that is more of a personal touch.I see most of the people that i give cards to most of the time and to be honest i get lots of cards so now i tend to cheat and write lots out and then if i have forgot any i only have to write their names on the envolope.

Yes I hand deliver gifts as well. That is to the ones that I can get to. Otherwise I mail them with a card too. I just enjoy fixing up christmas cards with a little personal note inside. Thanks for sharing.
