That all depends.
You know, when it comes to the popularity around the world, Facebook is the better one. But the situation are not always like that. Fo example, Orkut are more popular in Brazil than Facebook. From where I stand, I tend to spend much time on Facebook for there are almost all friends and classmates.
Of course, for the long run, Facebook will become more and more popular in the future.

Yes i am very agree with your opinion. Popularity of a person /thing in one place doenst make it more popular in other place. Facebook is the most popular social networking around the world, that this is mean, almost all people that used social networking usually have a facebook account. And it has the most active member at all time.

Hi prashantdonda!!
I beleive orkut is the number 1 social networking site. As you can see the facebook is a newly created site but orkut is a very old, standard and user freindly social networking site which holds millions of people under one roof. You can find your friends easily by their gmail id. Easy to scrap or make testimonials on their profiles and very most important thing is stability of the site. I never face any problem while using Orkut. So Orkut is best. I think you got your answer now.

I dont think you can measure popularity of a site with how old a site is, or how many member the site have. You can only meausure a popularity with how many active user it have, and how far it spread. I think facebook has many active user and it has spread far and wide. Facebook is not about making testimonial but more about comunicate and interact wiht other. I also never experience problem with facebook expect one time when they are doing maintance.
Well at least that what i think, off course people can have their own opinion.

hi mylotters,it's a very difficult question i must say that but in my opinion i must say that orkut is more popular in india as compared to other countries n m an indian i would take orkut's side though i have both the accounts but i love using orkut more then facebook n in my opinion facebook is bit confusing but more or less i like both the sites n love using it both......so can't say anything else..

I think facebook is more populer, in my country especially. Because many of my friend actually never use orkut, as for me, i dont event know what orkut is until i join mylot and see many people talk about it. But, even most of the people using orkut, is actually using facebook too. So facebook is the most popular social networking site right now.

This is very difficult to say which is better ,, but personally I feel facebook is better than orkut.

What make you think like that? What is the best facebook thing about facebook that make you thing that facebook is better then orkut. I dont really know about orkut, then maybe you should give us a lilte info about why orkut is inferior to facebook. Thanks.
