The other day I mistakenly downloaded a program called cyber security without realizing it. I thought that the message I got was from windows because the way they worded it made it sound like windows had detected a virus and I need to rid of this virus by continuing. Without thinking, I continued and halfway through the download I realized that it was an outside organization and tried to stop download, to no avail. Now, every 3 minutes I receive an annoying popup from them telling me I have x amount of errors that need to be fixed etc etc. I also keep getting shutdown by windows due to this unregistered software installed and they tell me to make sure in anti virus software is working, and it is..(McAfee) (I wonder why McAfee didn't pick this up?) Anyway, I want to delete the program but it does not show up in all programs..How is that possible and how do I get rid of it and their annoying pop ups..Never again will I be so quick to click on something but like I said, they totally tricked me..Any help out there is really appreciated..Thanks

okay, here's what you do. go to www.avast.com , download their free home edition antiviral software, install it, and when it asks if you want to schedule a boot time scan, say yes, and reboot. this will start the avast anti virus boot time scan witch will take a long time, but will find your virus and remove it. i have used avast for about 4 years now and have never had a virus cause me any trouble. registration is free and all they ask fore is an e-mail address to send your registration key.

Downloaded avast and ran. It did not find anything. Still getting pop up from this cyber security place every 3 minutes. If I ignore it, my computer shuts down. I am now almost unable to use this computer. The only thing I can think of is to do a complets system recovery its just that I will loose so much. Any other ideas before I do that, feel free..I'm lost
