with the onslaught of storms like Ondoy & Pepeng in the Philippines, people are becoming more aware of global warming and it's terrible effects. as governments around the world thought of ways to prevent the total destruction of our environment, what do ordinary citizens like us can do? suggestions everyone! i do think this can help a lot!

yes, for sure, we all should care more about the global warming and now more and more catastropes caused by global warming. I think firstly we should not use my own car and travel with public transpotation to reduce the carbon dioxide emissions at the atmosphere. also using sloar energy, planting more trees, having fewer baby etc...

unfortunately, we people have become used to have an easy life and have become very uncomfortable with our current lifestyle, it would take some drastic happenings before we fully realize we have to do something.

we do realise about the global warming. Governments around the world are also aware about this. we destroy our planet by our own hands! we are the one create this problem and it is now a time to put an end to this. we should stop pollution. start sharing vehicle with friends, stop open burning, stop using plastic bags, plant more trees. If we can do this, we are not just helping ourself but we are helping future generation.

i think department stores at our place should be stricter and follow yours to at least not use plastic bags a day! here, they only encourage grocers to use green bags but it's still the grocers' choice so majority of the grocers still prefers the plastic bags over the green bags.

Natural disease can't control sometimes, but this natural disease caused by the envionment, it's eventually caused by people. To promote the policy to protect the environment to citizens, let them understand protect the forest, don't cut the trees, don't put the polluted water, and don't produce the poisonous smoking to the sky. it's very important to avoid this.

indeed, these natural calamities' causes are the people who cut those trees and pollutes air... but as a mother/father or a student or an employee what simple things can we do to "not" add pollution in the air?

there are truely lots of things we can to as a citizen of the earth. we can do recycling, we can save water, we can stop killing animals, we can stop cutting off the trees, we can even use less and less detergent when we wash to not to pollute the natural water system, we can turn off the lights when there is no body in the room to save the electrical energy, we can also spread the words out to people to bring the awareness of protecting our environment, we can also teach our kids to do good stuffs for environment and more and more.

i do think more people should spread the word. these ideas should be disseminated if we want to really help ourselves and the future generation.

I just hope that we really learn from our mistakes and not just making "ningas cogon" as we done many, many times before. I've anyway, I've checked your profile and found out you're from Malabon. Is everything okay now down there? Now its the Northern part of the Pinas was badly suffering from the calamities. I pray that you guys will be safer today than it is during the typhoon.

we're okay here at our place you know we're really used to floods just not that big :)... we feel luckier than those of our countrymen there at the north i just wish Pepeng will leave the country fast. reports on television can be very depressing with more landslides and big floods.

theres so much to do to help ans saving our environment.first we should recycle things separate the bio and non-biodegradable materials.saves electricity by not using so much light at night and dont lights in the day when your home have light passing inside the house so it does not need to put lights again.use water efficiently conserve water.love mother earth as much as possible so dont burning coal that flood is really cause by no trees to hold on so maybe people got affected of all this flood ans so on.

Of course, ordinary citizens can help a lot, even they are the key element of this thesis. Governments may serve as a link between environment and human being. They make policies while citizens turn the thoughts into actions, a lack of either government or citizen will lead to the failure of our protection to the environment. So what can we do in this campaign? I do believe we should act from our surroundings, recycle valuable wastes, close the water valve tightly or stoping using products made of timber. If you have children, you should act as an example to exercise influence on your children, after all, this great cause will be undetaken from generation to generation.
