Hi Pals, Long time no see in mylot. I logged in it today and see that most of my discussions were opened up some 2-3 years ago. Recently, I decide to work back in EE, where I had been working very happily for some 3.5 years, and I believe I could work still happily in the coming years. Surely that means I need to give up the job ( I am still in and would leave on Mid.Oct) which gives me better payment and allowance. What's your opinion, would you give up happiness to hunt for a better treatment?

Hi andyliuzn! I guess that is a hard question. The main reason why we work is to earn a living. We work for money. Yes, indeed working with fun is really important for us to be motivated and do more. For me even if you are compensated high, if you hate and not enjoying the single day of your work, you will still find yourself wanting to go out. Money is not always the answer, but it can surely hold us back, especially if you have mouths to feed. I believe if you chooses the work that you love, time will come you will be noticed and your work will be rewarded. You just need patience. I think we should always remember that no matter how big is our salary if we are not happy with what we are doing our performance suffers. Our attitude manifested towards our work. So my advice is follow your heart andyliuzn.

hi andyliuzn well do you have to give up happiness to get a better job, or do you like the new job you might' go to, is the money that much different,if it is not then go with the work that makes you the happiest whether it pays a bit more or not. if money is a big problem for you then getting better pay ought to make you pretty happy in your new job. ultimately it will be your own decision at any event.

For me money would always be a preference to happiness. I have a view that money gives happiness to my family and when they are happy i am surely happy. So for me money is the key thing that can give happiness. I would go for some work which might not give me happiness but a lot of money as money is one thing that would ultimately give me love and happiness.

Welcome back, Andy. It is sometimes difficult to make both ends meet. I would like to talke about my own experience briefly. I changed my workplace for one time and the reason why I did so was due to the poorly-paid salary. I moved from one place to another for a much higher pay, but with the same job that I like. Now I am happy that I have made the right choice and I have never regretted about it. It is really very harsh for us to make a living nowadays. So personally I think that if I could get a higher salary with better treatment, I would take the new job that I can deal with into consideration. I am not worried about the new job if I can deal with it, one that is related to my major. So I think that there is no problem for you to do the new job well since you have made up your mind for the big move. May you be lucky and smooth in your new work post, dear Andy.

First and the foremost, money or any kind of wealth category of life must takes first. Happiness is the next thing to be pair of wealth. Got wealth with no happiness also useless and similarly to its vice-versa. So for my conclusion money takes first followed by happiness. "Money or happiness must take first in work" be my sub-topic to your published topic of discussion. Money takes first.

I think that it would be best if you can find work where you can earn money and find happiness in what you do. Eventhough you are earning a lot of money but then you are not happy with it, it's gonna take its toll in the long run. However, it is still important to consider a lot of things before giving up your job that is paying you for a high rate. One thing I see is that, not all people will be given that opportunity so why not grab it while it's there and then, when you can no longer find fulfillment with it that's the time you decide if you'll gonna give it up or not. My 2 cents. :)

I think that happiness is priceless ,but sometimes we need to sacrifice in the beginning to get the happiness that we all search for.

Self satisfaction is very important at ever phase of our life. Its what exactly true with your job. If you are happy by doing your job that really satisfies your needs too in terms of money. If you work hard, you will get remuneration accordingly..but if you never found to be good worker by your employer that really unsatisfied you to work there.. so surely you will shift.

Happiness is very important during work, and you did a good job and get the good payment. Sometimes, people work for happiness not at the stand of money's angle, but as me, I will consider whether we will work happily and how much I can get. Happiness is most important.

For me, it still boils down to "money". Many of us are working on a job not because its what we want but it compensates more than the job we truly want. Happiness sometimes easier when you have money in your pocket and need not worry about the future. Other will tell you that true happiness at work is when you learn to loved it and accept it no matter how low your salary is. Don't believe in that, I've seen too many people working on charities or other low or non-paying jobs.
