No I don't believe so because hispanics eat rice all the time too. If fact when my mom was growing up her mom made a big pot of rice each and everyday. So I don't believe its just an Asian thing.

I can't live without eating rice also because I'm Filipino too. I think not only Asian like eating rice. I tried not to eat rice in one meal but I not full and satisfied. Eating is rice is much different than eating bread or root crops.

Here in Denmark potatos are more popular than rice, and many elderly people don't like rice, because they are used to eating potatos instead of rice or pasta (rice is a "new" thing in the Danish cuisine) I am Danish, but I don't like potatos very much, and I especially don't like boiled potatos which are very popular in my country. If I get to choose between rice or potatos I always choose rice. I often eat food from Asia, and I think that most of it is really delicious.

what i know is that rice is not an Asian thing, its just very much seen in Asia but Western countries also have rice, but only very few of them have this because people in western countries are always in the rush for things thats why pizza becomes a meal for them instead of a snacks. my friend who got relocated to California told me this.

yes, rice is an Asian thing since we are major producers of rice and that is mostly the available food before for our ancestors that's why they got use to having rice in every meal. Its like potato in the states. If you produce abundance of a certain product then make use of the availability so that you can save on money. Nowadays though we are just use to having it in anything since we discovered long ago that it taste good with any vaian. Especially with lechon!

As a traditional food plant in Africa, rice is common food and almost all people there regard rice as their main food every meal. According to what I know, rice has the potential to improve nutrition boost food security, foster rural development and support sustainable landcare. Thus, there is no problem that you can't live without rice, which is common among all Asian. People often say that Rice is Life, which is really precise to you.

hi gnase99, i'm from the northeastern part if india, in a place called nagaland. We nagas are mongoloid and we also eat rice, it is the staple diet. We have rice with some curries and pickle. Though some people may be offended by our eating habits, we nagas like pork, beef or dog meat curries with rice.
