I had my telly on while I was working and the voice saying "Eating Fish can Make you smarter..." caught my attention and broke my pre-occupation...but I had to get out to have lunch and missed the rest of it.
In my whole life, from Moms' & Granmoms' hear-says, Catchy Magazine headlines and even some TV shows.
Some say peas & carrots, some say turkey, some say beef and some say chicken... there are even commercials on tea with catechins and flavonoids are great for the brains and would make you smart...
Make me also wonder, it would be interesting to know what our vegetarian friends have to share about smart food in their circle? If the words "Eating Fish can make you smarter..." could break my pre-occupation, I believe it would be a good discussion topic. What you reckon?

Fish is high in Omega 3 fatty acids, which is good for heart, and a regular diet of fish is highly recommended by nutritionists. Fish are also great for the skin. Nutritionists recommend that fish be eaten at least 2-3 times a week. But whether the fish can make us smarter, I am not sure about that. Like you said, if the fish can make smarter, then all the vegetarian will be a group of idiot
Maybe, the fish is contributing some goodness to our brain, but cannot make us smarter. The brain is developed since we are a child. From a child, we can see whether the boy/girl will become a smart or regular.

I love all kinds of sea foods but it's the taste that matters to me than its effects on our health. I think fish has many nutrients in it which can definitely help the body to perform better.
