I'm just curious, what was your first job and your job now (if you're currently employed)? Do you enjoy it? Was it your "dream job"? Or is it just something you have learned to enjoy for the sake of having a job and receiving monthly salaries? I used to dream of becoming a Flight Attendant. It was my dream job since I was 9 years old. But my first job was a part-time barista at Coffee Bean when I was still in college and now that I've graduated, I'm feeling frustrated landing a job for myself. :| I am not even sure what I really want now.

My first job was during school vacation time just for the summer, doing menial office jobs such as data entry, faxing documents etc. My job now is an airline pilot and it was my dream job since I was young, just like you. I'm so glad I put all of the effort in to doing what I wanted and I ended up succeeding and I wouldn't want to do any other job. It's actually a pleasure to wake up in the morning go to work as I enjoy that much. I sometimes think to myself that I can't believe people are paying me to do what I do because it's that great. I know there are not many airlines at the moment hiring flight attendants, but don't give up hope. I suspect in 2 years time they may start re-hiring, so if there's still a desire there for you to do that, I say go for it!

Oh wow! Reading your response made me smile. For real! I want to be in a job that I wouldn't just go to because they pay me, but because I enjoy and love what I'm doing. Hmm. As of now, my dream of being a flight attendant is bumped down to the middle of my list. But my plan of traveling the world is still number 1.

Wow, in many ways I relate. I can't figure out what I can and want to do--and it seems the more educated I become, in a way, the more limited I am--does that make sense?

I had my first real job when I was sixteen. I was going to college full time, but I worked part time in a daycare. I worked in the nursery and I loved it. I was in charge of the six week to 1 year olds. I loved those babies so much. It made coming to work a joy. I haven't had a job in three years though. My last job was at a children's mental hospital as an administrative asistant. I had to quit because of my health. I loved that job too.

ha ha ha ha ha... at the fork on the road of life and not knowing what to choose eh? You are still young, plenty of choices for you to make. Question you should be asking yourself... Do you want to draw a paycheck month after month for the rest of your life? Does your qualifications allow you to live and retire comfortably based on the pay check you draw month after month? Once you can answer them, the rest of the questions will just follow and those answers to the questions will aid you in your thoughts about what you want to do with the rest of your life!

MY first job was in a cafe, being a server/waiter.. haha =D I happened to be in it, because it was my fren whom introduced me into it, and i find it fun for it's my first job, and my first time earning money on my own.. haha =D I guess it's due to the frenz i found there, which makes me stayed there for about 3 years before i enlisted in the army.. haha =D After i'm out, i went back to the same company, same outlet, working about 2 years before quitting.. haha =D Right now, i'm working as something i really like, and it's my dream job too, for it's my hobby as well.. haha =D

My first job was evil telemarketing, even though I enjoyed it a lot because I was in a nice place with nice people and a nice boss. It was funny to try and beat the other people at getting more appointments and also I liked to hear people's excuses for not accepting my offers. I then worked for some time in an agency that provides jobs for people but it sucked a lot and the boss was evil with he people who were looking for a job, making them filling out forms and then tearing them up just as soon as they had left the office. I hated that place. My dream job is to become a teacher at primary school and that's what I am studying for.

My first job was a call center agent.I spent few months working as a call center agent, but I really didn't enjoy it although Call Centers pay well but it's really dreary, stressful and I consider it as emotionally and spiritually hard work! Now, I'm satisfied with my current job as a virtual assistant where I can always check my son from time to time while working. With regards to your situation, you're still young to make your dreams come true. Just follow what your heart says and make sure you have the skills for your dream job.
