I lost my money, now what??

One of my friends here suggested a seemingly good site to join and make money. The site required some investment and though I generally avoid such things, this time I just complied.
Well, it seemed good at first to watch my money reform. "One day more, and I'll take it back" I thought, "to check if it pays." And next day the site was not there! Google was unable to find it (but showed it in search).
So my money, which of course I got from myLot, was gone. It is old story now but still I regret this first investment. Any suggestion how to deal with the disappointment?

Hi it is always horrible when a site scams you, but if you only invest little, you will only get back pennies from HYIP sites, and you will have a high chance of losing. Now, the trick to making money from these sites is join early, as when they start to get old they will stop paying. However, there is one site that contradicts that and is Geniusfunds, which can be found in my profile and I have invested lots of money into it and make over $7 a month!

Hi, what I meant to say was I make $& a day, and I believe the site has been online for over 2 years, with 1 year so far being public. If you read all the forums, you will see how popular it is and how they pay instantly if you have LR. They only have a minimum of $10 from Alertpay, and if you want to sign up under me, you can check out my profile. They pay you on trading days online,as they really trade with your money in emerging markets.

I am so sad to hear that.
It is an old story indeed. But there are still lots of people who are cheated everyday. I have no suggestion how to deal with the disappointment for you because it is likeli that you can't get the first investment back.
Perhaps the best thing for you to do is just face it couragely and don't lay too much emphasis on it any more. You know, people are always making all investments at the risk of being cheated ang getting nothing.
Be carefully next time if you dare to invest again. Good luck!

That's right, I need to forget it now and be more careful. The funny thing is I had made a dispute entry in paypal as the site was not showing money at first. I dropped it once the things got straight, and two days after the final date for revoking the record, they just disappeared!
Anyway, I hope I got wiser now.

Sad to hear you lost your money.I do not invest in sites because we do not know where they are and when they will take our money and run away. You could have put the money in the bank or in your country investment schemes where you would have got better returns.I too lost money once investing in a money kit which was there on the internet. Now if i invest it will be only in the bank fixed deposit or in the post office.Happy mylotting.

Actually the money I invested was in my online account, so it felt jusrified to invest it online!
Hmm I'm trying to transfer all of it to some 'real' bank, but till then... Still, no more investments for now I suppose...
Thanks for the reply :)

Well dear the best way to deal with a disappointing experience such as that is to take it as a good lesson. The lesson being not to be too trusting of online sites that requires investment. Easy money making sites that require members to pay are mostly scam so you do beware of them. Don't you ever get involved again. Well that has already happened and sulking over that will not help you in anyway. Cheer up, anyway you can always earn money again. At least it is just your money and not your life. And be glad it is not you who cheated because those who cheat will have to pay someday soon in a more grievous way and that is for sure.

I think that is the best experience for us to think twice or even in a million when someone offer an investment on the net. Because we are not sure about the return. It is being safe if we know the owner of the sites and this is very near for us to go and complain if something happen in our investment but the case is the sites owner is not known to us. We don't know where he/she lives and the worst case is that we can invest money that we are hardly earn...To deal with that disappointment I think you need to think it is betting and loss from gambling...and think that is life...Have a nice day!

I don't like gambling either, too bad for people. And yeah I stopped betting too for that always meant being light in my pocket
"That's life" however... Thanks for replying!

This is a common phenomena over the net. I have been doing extensive search on websites where I can make a dependable earning. Most of the sites that I have come across needs to pay first. first they will say it's absolutely free, then as you go along with the steps, there is always something for which to pay. And it really blows up my mind. Now, if I get the name of any new site then I go for opinions in the consumer forums. If I get even a single negative opinion then, then I simply cut it off from my to do list. This is the best way. I cam across two sites and haven't got even a single complain against them. You can check at.. www.myinstant.biz and www.netsurveyjobs.com

And for the links too I hope I will check them soon after I get up again...

Chalk it up to experience and move on. You went against your better judgement and now you regret it. Hopefully it was not a large sum of money.

If you want to risk your money it is probably safer to do it with stocks.

Chalk it up to a learning experience and hope fully you learned not to invest in anything with out investigating it thoroughly. Also did your friend lose money as well or did they just get you? Are you sure your friend isn't a scammer because how can you promote a program that doesn't exist? I'd want to kick butt and ask questions later, but then again that's not the legal way, I'd sue somebody preferably the referrer.

I will spare the referrer, he may have suffered as well. I didn't ask him actually. By the way, I would like to say that some people get too fast in referring sites they haven't tested either. And sometimes they go as far as claiming payments.. Ha!

im sorry that you lost your mylot money. that is sucky. But I do have to say...NEVER pay money to make money. That never works. You shouldn't have to invest anything to start making money. I guess you were fooled this time. Fool you once shame on them....fool you twice...shame on you.

hello hora,
that is some another bad news to you but don't worry about it, you're not alone. we had experienced this too so many times.my experiences was with Occupex, i spent a lot and then all of the sudden they stop paying and hear rumors about them being a scam, until the site disappeared. here's a tip, when you pay something on the suspicious site and it has a PAYPAL payment processor, file a complaint so that you will be able to get your money back. i have done that thrice

You mean file the complaint as soon as paying the site? I did file complaint first time, but they got wiser and put me out of it. And once the re-appeal date expired, they just vanished! Funny, thinking of it now! Well, I have complained again, let's wait for result....

You know all have to deal with it . It is a lesson learn when we experienced scam site. Instead of crying and feeling regret we have to continue looking for other online opportunity or continue working hard of the legitimate site we still have. We can earn it again, much more we have already given, we will receive it triple when we require hardwork. Atleast we learn from that, we will study first every new opportunity that will serve in front of us before joining it.

I don't think he knew much. I was just surfing the net and found this domain database. According to it, the said site had been launched only one week before he started spreading news about it...
Risk and profit... true :)

The best way to deal with disappointment is to accept it, learn from the mistakes and move on. You may have lost money, but you've learned your lesson. Treat it as part of your investment (your learning). Business comes with risks and that includes internet business. We all had our share of misfortunes in the internet business, but we're still here investing our time and hoping to succeed someday.

Some people still don't get their lesson, I hope I am not one from them... Business is risky, that's why I always wanted to go for the civil services...!
