One would be it is no great thing, the Peace Prize is either no big news or was a fix for libnerals anyway. 5 would be news worth stopping for a moment and saying, "hmmmm, that's interesting," telling a friend or two then getting on with your day. 10 would be this is BIG news that will impact the world as we know it. Go for it folks - -

I would say this is a 10. It is always good for the country when it's leaders are awarded such high honors. I don't understand why we treat these honors that our leaders receive in such a partisan way. I am sure that it won't take much to realize the republicans from the democrats in this question.

Horn, I didn't look at any of the responses before I commented. I just pointed out that it won't be hard to tell the republicans from the democrats. If you have a problem with that comment, then may be you should look at the response and see for yourself. I am going off of past history with mylot, not this current discussion. You really need to relax, and calm down.

Sure, after the terrorist Arafat, the scam artist Al Gore, and the whining cry baby Jimmmy Carter got it, what value does the Nobel Piss Prize have?

I would rate it 10 for being the biggest joke in the award history.

Minus 1 - Instead of swanning around the globe with his tag-alongs he should be in Washington correcting the debt his stimulus has put our country in. Maybe he doesn't want the rotten ACORNS to fall on his head.

I have to vote in the negative. If his arrogant, egotistical, self-centered snobbery doesn't get in the way he will tell them no thank you. But, as we've learned it's "all about him" where Obama's concerned. He won't do the right thing. He has no concept of what doing the right thing is. All he knows is to lie and deny.

The whole things is a joke. Obama has not earned it. He knows it, we all know it. So I would say 3 on your scale. A little news worthy but not much. If thier new standards are giving awards out for what someone "might" do....then I MIGHT try broker peach between Iran and Israel..... So do I get one too?

I think that it is news of little importance because those who are on the nobel peace committee are not peace experts and know little about peace. They are retired Norwegian parliament officials. They have shown that they are willing to use the peace prize to encourage their political agenda, not to actually award peacemakers. Obama is obviously NOT a peacemaker - increasing the degree of war in Afghanistan is concrete evidence of this. While he is taking steps in the right direction toward peace, there are many others who deserve this prize much more than he. Look at those who have received it in the past - even Gandhi was not awarded the prize although he was nominated for it 5 times. If I were ever awarded this prize I would surely return it - and I think Obama should do the same (especially because he doesn't deserve it).
