So I finally hit the phone lines of y101 fm once more just to see if my prodding has actually resulted in something less than frustrating. Depressing or not, I chose to go by instinct and went on to ask for the Dixie Chicks or 'Not Ready to Make Nice', whichever came out of my mouth first. And then the 'wicked Wednesday' guy, was as usual obligingly giddy on his end only this time playing some kind of a chauvinistic 'man with the golden gun who thinks he knows so much' mien by being so complacently arrogant about saying, 'Oh no honey we don't play a hick's song. We don't play redneck songs here.' Yeah I called on a Wednesday night when things, especially the deejays are supposed to be wicked or at least not so nice, unfortunately that's just how tight I keep track of my days. And I could have seen that coming. But then again I thought y101 is 'always first' taking from 'there's always a first time for everything.' Well then I guess it's not what it's cracked up to be after all. What a shame! Say he can hate country and be so blunt about it. I don't blame him. He is entitled. I guess we all are. Truth is I'm not a country fan either. But we are talking about just one song here and not the entire genre. He can't be so contemptuously partial. Not to a Dixie fan's face. Obviously this guy needs a complete lobotomy and his eras tweaked. Seriously.

I am flexible in terms of music but country songs catches my attenton and taste better than the other types of songs. I just love the melody, the bright lyrics and the great voice of the artists.

Aww hon. It's such a shame you weren't ready to say something to him like "You know, now I understand what people mean when they say you can always tell a bad DJ by the fact that he only plays the garbage he wants to." Because that is what he is. Bad at DJ-ing. But the one thing you can do, and that I hope other people do (because I hate music snobbery - I like what I like, but I don't tell anyone else what to like!), is turn off. Switch to a radio station that has DJs that are worth listening to. happy mylotting!
