i have two drinking cups, the one used at home is porcelain cup,the one used at office is plastic cup. Today i was advised from one of my colleagues that the plastic cup is not good for our health as a drinking cup,the toxic chemicals from the plastic cup are easy to dilute into the water when the plastic cup is fulled with hot water, and then, the plastic cup have a lot of internal micro-pore structure, which hides the dirt and hard to clean up,so the plastic cup is easy to breed bacteria. i was also advised that the glass cup is the best cup for drinking water. which kind of drinking cup do you use? glass cup, plastic cup or porcelain cup? why do you like use this kind of cup? will you change your drinking cup when know about this information?

I have several cups use for drinking. It depends on what I drink actually. I have this favorite porcelain mug with Marvin the Martian print which was given to me on my birthday by my bestfriend, I use this when I am drinking coffee. I also have this tall stripes glass which I use whenever I drink juice. And at our shop, I have this tall aluminum blue-coated mug. We don't use plastics as it is not environmental friendly. I'm kind of conscious about global warming and I am advocate on proper waste management. It's good to hear that they are now banning those plastic cups. Might as well, the styrofoams. :)

that's true.once the plastic is heated there is a a chemical reaction ongoing that will dissolve some unwanted chemicals from the plastic itself. these chemicals are really toxic to one's health. i have changed all my kitchen wares to glasswares and as much as possible avoid using plastic wares.even the containers of my water are all in glasses.

Hello shuying. I agree with you that plastic cups are not so good as porcelain ones. I usually use stainless cups and glasses. I have one stainless cup in the office and a glass one at home. I don't use plastic ones unless I am served at a restaurant or at my friend's.

Well in the office, I have mug made of porcelain. This is usually what I use for my coffee drinking. Then I have a glass cup for my water. At home, I also have a porcelain cup for my coffee and a glass cup for water and softdrinks. I have tried using glass cup for my coffee but one time it broke due to heat.

I have a toddler son and a baby girl. My son has plastic bottles and I found out that it isn't good to put boiling or hot water in them. It is fine to cold water in them. He used to need cooled boiled water now he had tap water. My baby girl has bottles that are BPA free and I only use cooled boiled water in them. Her bottles go in a microwave sterilizer. I use plastic drinking cups in case one falls and hurts my children. I might change my type of drinking cup now. Thanks for starting this discussion.

hi Maximax, yes, you are right, the glass cup or porcelain cup is easy to broken when it falls, which is really a dangerance for baby. a plastic cup in microwave sterilizer will be better, i suppose changing a new plastic cup frequently will be good for your babies. thanks for sharing your experience, have a nice day with your babies.

My drinking cups are normally made of glass. I guess i just don't like the taste of plastic. Styrofoam cups are out because bits of styrofoam can break off. It would not be a good idea to swallow any of that. So I stick to glass.

hi shuying!yes its true plastic cup its not really good to use,why dont you try a paper cup instead of plastic cup, or bring your cup that is clean its doesnt matter whether its gold or porcelain unless it will protect your health for some toxic materials.
