My sister and I were curious how many of you watch shows on PBS? Are you a member? I once was a member but I haven't been a few years. I do watch Masterpiece Mystery but that's about it. I remember seeing Mastrpiece Theater back in the day.How about you?

I watch quite a few shows on PBS, sarah, but I am not a member. My budget really doesn't allow for any type of pay TV. Since TV went digital I find that PBS is one of the channels with the most options, but the shows aren't any better, and still consist of a lot of reruns. The Create option on PBS started out very promising, but even that has deteriorated. I still have not quite figured out why they combined Mystery Theater with Masterpiece Theater, but I do watch Masterpiece Mystery every now and then.

The Answer. Money. Masterpiece Theater was losing money And Mystery was about to be cancelled. So I guess= the duits decided to combine the two, I miss Alistair Cooke intros to Masterpiece Theater. And when Diana Rigg introduced Mystery.

I watch a few documentaries on the PBS channel from time to time. But, to be honest, I am not usually the one who puts it on that channel. As a matter of fact, when I am surfing the channels, that is not one of the numbers that I push. My boyfriend doesn't usually push channel numbers, so if there is something of interest when he is going up and down with the remote, he will stop on that channel. We also catch a concert on that channel from time to time. I think the show is called Austin City Limits, or that used to be the show that had the old classic singers on it from time to time. They may have another show now, or just an additional one, because it seems like now they play more older rock'n roll groups, whereas before it was usually classic country singers. I haven't ever been a member of the PBS channel, and I am not sure exactly what that means. I suppose it has something to do with donations. We don't usually donate, but will watch the auctions and try to bid on something from time to time.

Very rarely and it is usually on Sunday morning while I am reading the paper and because nothing else is on. So they are usually some nature or science show.

My family recently got rid of cable to cut down on expenses, and now we have several PBS channels from the digital/free/whatever its called new system. xD I like to watch some cooking shows on them and some documentaries once in a while.

I don't watch PBS on a regular basis, but if they have something interestling like a concert of classical music, or an interesting documentary, then I will watch.

I watch some of the music shows when they have good bands on.... Austin City Limits and Soundstage. Watching Soundstage was what made me have to see Dashboard Confessional live because they put on a really high energy show and it really surprised me. Does Gillian Anderson (from the X-Files) host Masterpiece Mystery? I had read somewhere that she might take over the hosting job but hadn't thought much about it until just now when you mentioned it.

We have satellite but I love PBS. We taped Inspector Lewis last night and we're watching right now as I write. They have great kids shows for my grandkids, and I like the local oriented shows.

Inspector Lewis is the series that got me back watching PBS.I think they did a great job passing the torch to Lewis after they kiled off Morse.
