I cannot respond to some discussions.. Do you experience the same?

This is what happen. I am checking the new discussions posted in mylot by clicking the "discussions" tab and the "new" tab. I saw so many discussions without a response there. So I clicked to one of those discussion and click the button "respond to this discussion". what happen? I cannot respond to it. Every time I clicked the button "respond to this discussion", it just come back to the discussion page. After I try different discussions and I found the reason. I only can respond to discussion who is belong to a category / interest. If the discussion is not categorized, then I cannot respond to it. Is it happening to you too? My other question is, why so many people can post a discussion without a category / interest on it. I always have a category / interest for all my discussion. Like this one, I place this discussion in interest of "MyLot". How about you?
