I have a dream, but now I can't wait any longer,may I give up the dream

Things always changed without signs, I have a dream in my heart a long time and i can't realize it from day and day, I have no patience to wait any longer. maybe the dream is not practical, so I continue to insist waiting and give up it for a pratical goal. how can i do , I really have no idea of it .
