A friend of mine asked my best friend why does he say sorry even when he is not wrong to his friends and he said it is because for me the relationship be it any ( friends, lover, family) is more important than my ego.. i feel he needs to be firm and when he is not wrong he shouldnt say sorry.. what do you think?

well your friend had given the right answer, simple to maintain good relationship saying sorry is not big deal. When one is not wrong then saying sorry is very hard but sometimes saying sorry will make the quarrel calm down. But if one feels that relatiosnhsip with that particular person is not important then can argue with that person for hours..

Hi I agree he is so thoughtful and interested in making /maintaining good relations. well some quarrels will definitely calm down when we say sorry. I have seen some of friends who doesn't feel sorry even if they did the mistake such people just worsen the situation.

I don't like saying I'm wrong when I'm not. However, I think it takes a very secure person to say they are sorry when they've done NOTHING to be sorry for!!! That takes a STRONG soul!!!

Thanks lady marissa, for the rsponse and i do agree with you that he is a very strong character. We all girls feel so safe when he is around and yet he is so gentle that he wont hurt even a fly for no reason.. but i do keep telling him to not to give in to all the friends so easily.

Hi. asweetie. There is nothing wrong with saying sorry for something that a person has done. But if they did not do anything wrong to feel sorry for, then they should not have to say that they are sorry all of the time. I am not going to take the blame and feel sorry for something that I have not done. If he is not wrong, then he should not have to say that he is sorry. I don't understand why he feels that he has to say he is sorry.

I think that words are used for saying what one wants to. For me, the word sorry is there to apologise for something. If I have done nothing that means I should apologise, I would not employ it. I feel that there are many ways to keep a relation with the people you love. Politeness is for everyone, but there is also the smiles, the caring, the hugs, the tears. If one of my friends (I only have close friends) feels I have done something wrong, I can listen to how he/she sees the situation. Sometimes I change my opinion and then I apologise.

Good one i think anything done to save a relationship is worth. I don't feel anything low or wrong in doing so. The other person will automatically realize his/her fault when a person/friend do this.

The friend who said sorry though he was not wrong shows his humbleness and politeness towards others. This makes him popular and the person to whom he said sorry though that person was wrong get shy on him self. Ego makes a man loser and humbleness pays much more than expected.

It totally depends on how much important the relation is to that person. Loving someone truly allows one to rise above petty ego and bowing down a little to maintain that relation or to avoid bringing a tear to that person's eyes. In bowing down this way one actually stand taller.

when a friend say sorry although he is nor wrong it means he love you so much and he is ignoring his friends mistakes.

Hi, I tend to say sorry alot sometimes. I say thing I shouldn't. I think alot of it is because we don't want to hurt people. If it makes them happy I don't now. Maybe I should read what people has said. I think we tend to care alot about people and there feelings more then ours. I hope this helps.

I don't think it has anything to do with ego. I'm the same way and i do it so I don't make anyone mad or hurt their feelings. Not because of my ego.
