how to swear off smoking ?

I have a bad habit of smoking for six years.and now I want to swear off smoking.
it is very hard for me to swear off .when i want to smoke I always use my hand to hit the wall of my room.but at last I was failed .
I dont konw how to swear off it .maybe some of friends in mylot can giev me some suggestion.
