october a month of festivals

October has brought with it a number of festivals here in india. We have the biggest festival diwali when goddess laxmi is worshiped falling on 17th and then viswakarma puja the next day. It is followed by bhai dooj a festival which makes the relationship between brother and sister stronger. Diwali itself is preceeded by several events like karva chauth when married woman keep fast and pray for the long life and well being of their husband. Ladies dress up for the occasion and its a merry day all along. Do you a period which has a number of festivals coming one after the other. There is one negative to this. My children are having too many holidays and they are not keen to study on these days as a lot of activity goes around.
