Hello mafi. We have a saying in China that the spouse is the very person who knows more of his or her partner than anyone else. So I don't think that you will have any problem in choosing a very nice gift for him as a surprise. I am also wondering whether you have already bought something nice for him. But whatever gift you get for him will win his appreciation, I guess, because I think that it doesn't have to be something expensive, so long as it represents our sincerity.
