What is The Name of The Main River Where You Live?

I live in London and of course our main river is the Thames.

Mine is called the Cam (or, in places, the Granta or the Rhee). River names are fascinating. Sometimes they are of Celtic origin (such as the Avon, which simply means 'river') but sometimes they are even older and the real meaning can only be guessed at!
The Thames was called 'Tamesis' by the Romans, who presumably had the name from the people whose country they invaded (or were invited to, whichever way you see it!)
Often the river is the name of an ancient god, or vice versa, because springs and rivers were very much revered and thought of as the abode of spirits.

The main river where i live is the Ross river. Ross River fever got it's name from it, not so great to be famous for something like that
