Typhoon Ondoy relief projects, free campaign for the coming elections?

Everywhere you will see people giving away relief goods which is not bad. Help from other people will always be appreciated. However I also found this as an opportunity for politicians to have a "free campaign". On one of the local channels they even presented a few people who took part in relief projects, which are noticeably, from the same political party.
It's also disappointing that the people who are in charge in the city (our city for example) is not even thinking about pumping the water out. (yes, there is still flood in our area, it's black and it smells, arrgh!)
Anybody here who has a similar predicament?

Relief good with the name of politicians "written" on it is I think a clear fact of early campaigning. If only they could put the words "FOR PRESIDENT" or "VOTE FOR ME", then they do it definitely. They don't do it out of compassion or the eagerness to help those poor victims of these disasters. Pardon me but this is what I fell. Anyway, they will re-reimbursed all the money they spent after they won the election. Pity for all Filipinos.

I feel bad about your predicament and even worse, that people in charge in your area refuse to do anything about it. Have you asked them why not? Seems really unreasonable for them to ignore people wanting to be in a cleaner environment. I hope that when you find this response that your area is clean and free from icky water.
As for the politicians getting free publicity for their want to help out typhoon victims, it does seem thick skinned of them but what the heck, people in need are benefiting from them and that at least should b a silver lining.

While I agree that the relief operations on typhoon ondoy is turning out to be an early campaign, I am still thankful because we can now see the politicians who really cares and who pretends to care. I am a victim of this typhoon and it was a week past before we finally receive goods and it did not come to out LGU! In fact, the first goods that were given to us came from sagip kapamilya. Imagine that! We are asking where's our mayor because he is nowhere to be seen. Because of these, I am most certainly sure he won't win the next election.
