most people prefer graphical interface and programs that can be anywhere and can be installed on their pc without doing such programming thing. also people don't wanna waste time setting up system preferences. i have ubuntu and it works great only problem is most of the programs i commonly use doesn't work on it.

Try combiz to eXperience the best graphical interface in ubuntu... (much more complex and awesome than the "wow" Vista)

The simple reason is the lack of third party support... no wide range of third party softwares are available for linux that you need to be a freelance programmer at the least to fully switch to linux. Another problem is the interface.. Most people are reluctant to learn and understand something different from the windows interface! But Ubuntu is picking up in terms of looks, user friendly interface and much improved third party support.. Still PC gamers have no choice but to use windows..
