Hello my dear friends and fellow mylotters,
It is October 12th, 2009 today. I finally got a brand new laptop from a newly-opened computer shop managed by my previous colleague, who is now operating the computer shop as well as fixing computers for his customers. I booked this laptop computer from him yesterday and got it today, so fast. I am so happy for this new laptop.
Its brand is Lenovo---Lenovo G450/G550. It cost me 4250 RMB. (One US dollar is equal to 6.82RMB these days.) It is 250 Gigabytes and 2G memory. It works much faster than my previous old laptop, an IBM one which has been used for six years long, but got ruined on the sixth of October, when I came back from my eight-day holidays. I felt so bad when I had no laptop of my own to use in my own apartment for so many days. Now it is all settled with the new laptop bought today.
I will try to get my old laptop fixed by my previous computer guy, who knows more about it, but maybe it will cost me quite some amount of money to get it fixed, I guess. Anyway, I don't care too much about the fee he will charge me so long as it can be fixed.
So, my dear mylotters, what is the brand name of your computer? Do you like it?

I like both my old one as well as this new one.
Take care, friends.

A very good laptop computer for a brand named LENOVO. 2G memory nice enough to be installed with 'Window 7' for its OS (Operating System) but I do not know for how much 'Window 7' OS costs you there. What's its CPU speed? you forgot to tell us about it, it's OK I'll check it out on internet. Mine? Never leave behind my DELL laptop computer, I am a 'DELL' chronic supporter...hahaha! DELL ardent fenz.

that's good and fine to know that you stick with your XP because 'P' is Professional, but if you try Window 7...it leaves your XP with clouds of dusts...hahahaha!

Congratulations on your new laptop! Enjoy! I have a Hewlett Packard Tablet Laptop for my personal laptop and a Dell for my work laptop. At work I have a Dell desktop. My 9 year old daughter just bought a small Acer netbook with all the money she saved up. Now she doesn't have to use my laptop anymore.

Speaking of shift keys, the right shift key of my IBM laptop was damaged by my less-than-one-year-old son this summer when he suddenly placed his fingers on my keyboard. Yes, I am happy that there are two shift keys for us to use. It took quite some time before I am used to use the left shift key. Enjoy your laptops, friend.

Hi! First, good to know that you already have laptap wiht you to use again. My laptop is Compaq presario which I bought from one of the IT shows two years back. It was a vote from my husband, cousin, sister and auntie who goes with me during the fair. Actually, my cousin was the one who was keen on buying and just grag me there to use my credit card. It turns out that the deal is good (I think SGD1,200) thus, I and my sister also purchase the same brand and model that day also. Because we had purchsed 3pcs at the same time, the person-in-charge gives us lot of freebies which includes MSOffice installes. It is Windows Vista thus, we got some time to get used on it as we are Wondows XP user. I just notices recently that its start-up got a little slower so I am not sure if it is because of the programs installed. We already bought an external hard drive so I am sure that it is not the amount of file we stored in there. Maybe I will get my IT friend to check on it sometime later.

Hello friend. Speaking of Vista and Windows XP, so far as I know, a few friends of mine changed it from Vista to Windows XP as they are in the habit of using it still.

Vista has some problems when it comes to download something because the very thing that we are going to download says that it fits some versions like windows xp, windows 2000 and so on, except vista. So it is out of this reason, quite a few of the computer users change it back to windows xp when they buy one with vista on it. I wish that vista would soon improve it to make it compatible to all the other softwares. Good day, friend.

We also like to do it when we bought it but soon thereafter, all windows will be replaced by Vista so why bother to downgrade it? We are used to it already and do not find it difficult to manage though as some claimed it is.

Hello Professor. I am so happy to read your response. Laptops have always been my preference and choice as they are nice and convenient. Also I am used to typing on a laptop keyboard rather on a desktop keyboard. My typing speed on these two types of keyboard are very different as well. I type slowly on a desktop keyboard but fast on a laptop one. Have a good day, Professor.

Congratulations on your new laptop, william. I have a Gateway T6311. It was actually a gift and I treasure it so much because I cant really afford to buy one, lol. My aunts and uncles from the states gave it to me since I asked it from them as a birthday present. It took them a year before they gave it to me. It's actually refurbished but its working good for surfing the net and other basic tasks. I can also play games using this one. I dont really know the specs but its really good. The plastics are still intact after almost a year they'd given it to me. I dont really accessorize it I just added a mouse for my convenience since I'm not used in using the pad.

Hello, williamjisir! Congrats to your new laptop!
We have an ASUS desktop which works very fine. We just installed the Windows 7 and it works faster. But I like to use the laptop - the brand is Dell. It also works fast and I can easily bring it where ever I want to go.
I am also planning to buy a mini laptop or notebook. I want to have a HP 5101, but right now, there is no Windows 7 with the said computer, so I still waiting for the release of that version.
Have a good day!

A friend of my brother built my pc so i can't tell you which brand it is. But don't think it was built for things i do. I use dreamweaver for creating sites and many other programs that use a lot of cpu. Even when i run only firefox it sometimes uses 100% of cpu. I did buy additional ram so i have 1500mb now and pc is 4 years old. But don't believe my brother when it says it is good. Sure for a very simple user but i'll choose the components for my next one. Have a great day

Hi,williamjisir!
The laptop I'm using now is Dell's.And it works very well.I bought it during last National Holiday since I got enrolled in a university in Hangzhou. And the brand of my desktop is Tsinghuatongfang.Since you are Chinese,I think you must have heard about it.My desktop is a bit old.My aunt bought it for me 5 years ago.It doesn't function well nowadays.Usually takes a lot of time to turn it on or to open a site.So I prefer to use my laptop now.The desktop is kinda neglected by me.hehe.
Have a good day!

Hello babyanna. I see that an old computer does not work as well as a new one. My previous one was IBM, which served me for more than six years and one day last October, it was broken all of a sudden and became useless, but I am using its hardware as a mobile one. Now I am enjoying this new one of mine a lot as it works much faster with very good functions. Enjoy yourself, Anna.

Well, I am using Toshiba, satellite model. I have it for a year already and so far, its doing fine and well. I think the important thing about computers may it be laptop or desktop is the way we handle and use it. How we keep it safe from viruses, spywares and malwares. Congratulations on your new device. I am sure that you are certainly happy about it.

I am currently using a Compaq Presario laptop (now under Hewlett Packard) and I am satisfied with it except that i ruined my DVD drive just a few months after purchase. glad it is still under warranty. Performance-wise, i think it's competitive especially for me who requires high capacity machines. I used to have a Sony Vaio long before but it got ruined. i think the inverter got destroyrd and i can't see anything from the screen anymore unless i peep into the screen close enough.. After that happened, i was given this new laptop also as a gift when i passed the board exams and i am really happy and satisfied with it..

Hello calai618. It is very important for us to have a longer warranty from the company or shop where we buy our computers in case something should happen to the item we buy. Thank you for the response, friend.
