i enrolled into a course where technicality and straightforwardness is the trend in writing. i really miss being flowery in words, and thinking beyod what you can read. i still read a lot, but due to the hectic schedule, writing is not possible, i would dedicate my time writing my thesis and stuff rather than writing poems, short stories, and novels i used to love.

I know exactly how you feel! When I was in high school I used to write a lot. I thought it would be fun to continue writing in college and also have it as a career, so I studied journalism. To my horror, I found that "learning" how to write properly took away most of my creativity and spontaneity, and I ended up just following writing formats. I wish I could bring back the days when words just flowed from my mind to my pen, but those days are long gone.

In journalism there actually isn't much freedom in writing. Well, at least in news writing. There is a little bit more freedom in feature writing. But news writing really got into me that when I was already doing feature writing I couldn't write good articles anymore.

It is like you took the words out of my mind hahaha! I am currently a 5th year student of BS Architecture, and i thought that if someone would be in a course like yours, the freedom in writing would still be there. But now I know, you also had a hard time dealing with the same dilemma as mine

writing is hard. even responding to posts is hard, much more, starting up a discussion even now. come to think of it, i also used to write poems and even tried to write descriptive stories... but then, that was college. looking back, I think i was carefree, infatuated and blind to the harsh realities of the world. now, 10 years later. its so hard to formulate a train of thought. heck, I even spent about 15 minutes just to respond properly to your post! I think thinking too much about our own personal dilemmas really dampens creative thinking.

It is amazing how when our schedules get hectic, that we give up the things that we really enjoy doing, and go more toward what we have to do. That is what I am trying to avoid right now. I am trying to make a full time income on my internet earnings, so that I don't have to go to work for someone else. This is actually, the third time that I have tried this in a matter of about 10 years.
I must admit, my income has increased quite a bit. And if it weren't for some other things that I have going, which don't take too much time, I would never be able to do this right now. So, I am glad that I am able to do this. And the earnings keep adding up, last month was a tremendous month for me!
Good luck to you in finding time to do the things that you enjoy doing, instead of just the things that need done! And have a great day here on myLot!

if u already had it, i dont think u can lose it. it is still there. u r just too busy with other stuff and dont have the time or u r just stressed. i think take a day off and relax, and it will come to u again. or just scribble stuff down in a notebook for fun, like in ur journal, and it will be back. u r probably just out of practice, and just need to get back into it.
