I really do not believe in store bought medication. I am more dependent on herbal medication. I love teas in particular. I am actually recommending lemongrass tea or moringa tea. It works for me and it does not make me drowsy.

i find your post pretty interesting...you do not -believe- in something that is scientifically proven [as proper medications] and depend on something that there is much less scientific data to prove its efficacy and much less data for its side effects [herbal medicine]

i've a trik, useful expecially in summer, i don't know what's the cause of headache but i think there is a connection with the pression inside the skull, so when i've headache i simply put my head under cold water. the headache will pass in a few seconds, for me, i don't know if this trik it's effective on other people.

If I have headache, I will take a rest first before deciding which medicine I should take. It seems like people just have thought that medicine cures nothing, while not realizing that the body itself has ability to cure itself. =) I don't think deciding to take medicine at the very first sight is the best one. If we are dealing with medicine, just be very careful because misusing it means destroying your body. =)

Hi Craicha Yes I do take something for pain. That pain has to be pretty big before I do. Then I usually just try to take something over the counter type. I have tried to relax and to me it doesn't work. Maybe its that I don't believe in it enough to make it work. Have a great day. Keep smiling..

I don't always depend on medicine. Since I've started doing yoga postures and pranayamas (breathing exercises) I don't get many headaches. Now, if I do get a headache I will either stand on my head (a wonderful yoga pose, which refreshes the brain), or do some breathing exercises. The breathing exercises blows out all the stale air and brings in a large amount of oxygen. It also helps in circulation of the blood, especially in the brain. If you are interested, you should look up info. on yoga on the net. It is really beneficial for people who suffer from headaches, as well as a number (to large to count)of other problems.

see it is not that u can avoid medicine...ya sometimes you can avoid the usage of it but sometimes avoidance of it may result in ignorance; which may result in some perilous disease. ya can afford not to take medicine in case of headache. but what will you do in case of a migraine problem. the advancement of technology has made us dependent on medicine. in the early days people used to take herbs and all natural stuffs to cure diseases. now they take chemicals. so these chemicals aka medicines are now part and parcels of our lives. we cannot live without them.

I don't like to take paracetamol if I have a headache. If it is possible I drink some water and get some fresh air. I attempt to do some relaxation and might rub like massage the area of my head that hurts. I said to the midwife that I wouldn't need paracetamol after my second son has born. Those after pains really hurt and I did need paracetamol to take the edge off the pain. I have a vegan diet and take vitamin pills. I am usually healthy I am happy to say.

Hi Chaicha, For sure, I need a medicine when I am not feeling well. Most of the time, I will get a flu and last time I always get a flu everymonth and for sure, I need to visit a doctor. Till one day, I got a bad flu and need to go for injection ,that is to prevent the flu virus spread to my son. Since the flu medicine is so effective, I keep the medicine sample and I went to buy some medicine keep stock at home,in case I need it anytime. Last 2 months, I caught a flu and I ate the same medicine that given by the doctor, it got recovered in the next day. I am so glad that this flu medicine really suit me and Now I standby about 15 pills at home.Of course, I hope I won't touch this medicine again,I hate flu !!Stay away from me...!

I try to avoid medicine for as long as possible. When it becomes apparent that I will be unable to overcome a sickness without it, then I will take something. For headaches, I will take a long hot bath followed immediately by an ice pack to my forehead and a nap. I will also try black coffee...I get migraines, not just normal headaches. After a couple days of being unable to get rid of the pain I will turn to Advil. If this doesn't work I take my migraine meds. I don't like for my body to be dependent on meds to get over sickness. The more a person takes, the more they rely on them. So, not taking them just works better for me.

i don't, and i try not to unless i need it badly, and there is no other options for me. i remeber i saw a commerial about a new book called the natural cure (i think that's the book's name, but not sure), though i did not get the chance to read the book, but it's quite conviencing from the speech the auther made, and logically it sound right to me, we as a human being, our body has the ability to cure itself for most of the time, you don't need the medicine to get the work done. there is a saying in chinese, that as long as it's the medicine, it's poison for 70%. but still, if you need to see the doctor, see them, after all they are the experts, not me, hehe

for the headache, i don't see the reason to take medicine directly. i think not only for headache, for every happen to health, need to discuses with physician. without physician's advice, take medicine is not wise decision and good. i don't support this way. only for the headache in some time suddenly, rest and sleep is enough to be cure it. so better you try take some rest and try take some healthy food, including drink. if the headache are not cure and get continue, i suggest to visit physician and follow physician's advice.

I am a kind of person who always try to avoid taking medicines.Instead i look for some alternatives such as home remedies and there are times when i do not even take home remedies,i just leave for self recovery.Self recovery is good as it helps in immunity development. If i am suffering from headache then the common remedy which i use is i will drink ginger coffee. And one can also choose to apply eucalyptus oil to forehead and neck and have a nap. This gives a fast relief which is usually followed by sweating.

hi Craicha If I have a bad headache yes I will take Ibuprofin because I do not like to wait around and let it get worse. I am not afraid of the medications I know will work, I just take the recommended dose and my headache is soon gone. Sitting around and wishing it away will not work on my headaches but Ibuprofin does work.Relaxing my mind is impossible if my head is splitting from a bad headache. I cannot fAthom not using the medications that are prescribed by my doctor. It is fine to use other techniques if they work, but I will take medication for my headaches thank you very much.
