Okay here it is the season with all the Christmas stuff on display and Halloween hasn't even occured. But, as I am sick of apple pies, apple crumble etc, I had to buy yet another yearly 4 pound container of Danish Butter Cookies. I buy a couple tins each year around this time. I simply love the melt in your mouth taste of these cookies. Do you; or have you ever bought large containers of Danish Butter Cookies?

Those are my favorite cookies. When I used to work in mortgage loans, years and years ago, we would usually get a box or so of these either from the realtors or the mortgage originators. Wow, did we eat good around the holidays! Those were the days. LOL
I will usually by the smaller tins of them for myself, or sometimes I will get lucky and a neighbor or a friend will remember me and get me a tin of them. In my opinion it is one of the best gifts that you can get anybody.
Hey, maybe I'll do that this year. Instead of trying to pick out individual gifts for everyone, maybe I'll just buy one of the great big tins for the whole family. Thanks for the idea Grandpa Bob! Have a great day here on myLot!

These are also my faves.
I shop Sam's Club so I buy in bulk.
Walmart etc sells the tiny boxes.
Those last me a few days is all.
This 4 pound box will last a week at least. HAHAHA!

Not that large... I usually only get the 1 pound tins. But, I do have some of the large tins I've picked up from someone's recycling bin. They make great storage.
I use a tall one to hold my sugar, and one of the flatter ones to hold food processor blades.

Those are delicious! But I much prefer scotch shortbread made with butter, flour and powdered sugar. It's an old, old recipe that I've lost and hope to find again. I do like the Danish butter cookies, though, as well as the wedding cookies that are balls of nuts and sweet stuff.
Darn you! I'm due to begin a new food plan tomorrow and you're making me want to go out and buy cookies!!

I used to buy these delicious cookies, although not in such large containers. Since I am a diabetic now, I can no longer indulge in them. However, I envy you for all your apples and apple dishes. Now I eat unsweetened apple sauce, at leat not sweetened with sugar but with Splenda or Stevia. We had Thanksgiving this past weekend in Canada. My daughter-in-law brought a sugar free apple pie which was delicious. You could not tell the difference. Myself, I baked a sugar free low cal pumpkin pie made with liquid eggwhite from a carton, Splenda and evaporated skim milk. I have to get used to this way of baking because it really did not turn out well. It even looked odd. Oh, well!

Hi Grandpa Bob. I loved these cookies when I was growing up! I especially like the round ones with the holes in the middle. I know that they're all pretty much the same, but for some reason I liked them more than the others. Still do. But now whenever I get them I try to save some for my husband as these are his favorite out of them too.
Happy mylotting!

Oh, I love those cookies. My whole family like them. I haven't seen any out in any of our stores yet but I'm sure they will be out soon. And of course I will have to buy some when I see them. Sometimes I buy the little containers of them and give some out as christmas gifts.

Thanks a lot. Now I have drool running down my shirt. Grandpa Bob, you are so mean! I have been so good losing weight and eating healthy and now you get me thinking about those delicious things.
I love those things. If I bought the large container I would have to eat one and mail the rest to you.
