Firstly, welcome to myLot. Happy myLotting everyday.
Nowadays, the songs of Jay Chou is my favorite voice. Almost everyday I will listen to his songs and enjoy the time with his unique flavour and voice, especially when I am in trouble and feel miserable.
Something about Jay Chou:
He is a musician from Taiwan, singer, producer, actor and director. Jay Chow is hard to be understood even or chinese people at the very beginning, but now he's much better. Nowadays, his songs have been popular among all Asia countries.

In the last two weeks I have grown completely addicted to Why I Have My Grandma's Sad Eyes by Kill Hannah. Singer/frontman Mat Devine packed so much into that one little 5 minute song that even though I'd learned almost all of the lyrics within a few days, I hear something new that I like just about every time I listen to it.

I don't think you have to have an account to listen but if you do it's free.

Hi Ramesh,
Speaking very frankly I must say that I don’t enjoy any other music except my own Indian light and film music. I am a fan of oldies and its rarely that I don’t listen to old Hindi songs. They are my absolutely favourite and can lift my spirits anytime. What’s your favourite music?

Well as Indians, Hindi music is in our soul. Even though I do not understand the meaning I love to listen to Hindi Film Music. But I like to listen to the golden oldies, like Aradhana, KatiPatang, etc.
Regarding my favorite, I listen to all sorts of music like Tamil and Hindi film songs. Of course all English songs of 70's,80's and 90's.Even though I have grown up in a house, where everybody used to listen to carnatic music. I do not like them. In English I do not like much of this new hiphop.

I will be too honest here, more than needed. Yesterday I heard an audio of a song re-sung by James here and I really loved it! Sorry I don't remember the song title or artist but it was so beautiful

riverblue, I really like your broad selection of songs here. It sounds just like a listing of the types of songs that my friends and I listened to while we were in college. Some days we listened to britney, others we listdned to postal service, sometimes it was the beatles, or michael jackson, or fiona apple, or fifty cent, or joanna newsom, or david bowie, or prince. I love how people can have such varied musical tastes.

Hi there! Well, last week I listened to the new Franz Ferdinand song "Take me out" on the radio and I loved it! Also, the song from Pearl Jam, I think it's called "Brother"... There are a lot of songs that I didn't know the name 'till 2 or 3 years after the first time I listened to them, so they're basically new to me like "I was made for loving you baby" by Kiss and "Second chance" by 38 Special.
Happy MyLotting and have a nice day!
Xp

Everybody likes to hear songs in their own language. Only when you listen to a popular tune in another language, you start to listen to them.I will try to listen to Moulin rouge in Youtube.
Thanks for the response.

Yesterday it was all Gospel music. We had a song and praise night at church where everyone is welcome to go up and sing specials. I got a bit brave and sang a song with my daughters and another member of our church that I absolutely adore. "Shall We Gather At The River" Other than that, I have been listening to a variety of songs with my girls. Taylor Swift's "Love Story" and Carrie Underwood's "Before He Cheats" are two of our favorites that have played over and over. But, our music preferences are not centered around just country and gospel. We listen to a little bit of everything...from oldies to country, to classic rock to pop. It all just depends on what mood I am in when the radio gets turned on.

Thanks for the response tonkia. As Hindus we also have the habit of singing in our Temples. These devotional songs are quite nice to hear just like your gospel songs. Unfortunately the younger generation, do not like to sing in the temples now days, and that practice is slowly being lost.

At the moment I am really feeling Maxwell's "Pretty Wings". When I first heard it, to tell you the truth, I didn't really like it that much. But since I don't have a cd player in my car anymore (it got stolen), I didn't have much choice to listen to the radio, and I kept hearing the song. When I stopped and really listened to the words, the song really spoke to, specifically concering a relationship that I had recently been in. That song really speaks to my heart, and I turn it up and sing everytime I hear it on the radio.

Most of us listen to the songs, without completely understanding the song. Once you start reading the lyrics of the song, then only you will start really enjoying the song. As you have mentioned, the song will really speak to your heart or the brain.
