For the past few days I've been erked and bothered by this dang Artemis Trojan crap! At first it was Vemundo or something, now it's Artemis! I've scanned and scanned but it only quarantines a few! Altogether I had about 16, now it's down to four, but it was 1 then 2 so now it's multiplying! I visited a forum and they said something about malwarebytes! I downloaded it but now it won't launch, WOW! I guess it's not too bad but it keeps popping up ads and freezing my computer and I can't work like this!! Please any suggestions on some good malware apps or antivirus, something, this is sickening!! Taripre$

If your internet provider is comacast, they will give you a free software called macafee. It is pretty good in cleaning your computer. You also could try NORTON, you can download a trial which should be able to clean up your computer. I prefer NORTON, because it is the best anti-virus software. (NORTON isn't free though) A final and last resort, is to take your computer to somewhere like Staples, because they can do computer clean-ups.

Yeah, I have Comcast, but McAfee wasn't working! This whole weekend it seems something has been shutting parts of it down! I downloaded another program, avg, but it seems that just let the trojans loose again! I think I finally got it under control though, haven't had any serious craziness happen lately, just browser freezing!! Taripre$

I don't really like McAfee, it just seems to sleep somewhere in the tray without blocking any viruses and the best thing it does is slowing my computer down, sometimes I think a virus would give me less problems than McAfee actually does :|

I finally had to buy the new Norton 360 and Spysweeper because I got one that around other files and it was so hard to get rid of the recommended security for computer and I had to get this other one to eradicate it from my computer. We should write a book on the horror stories of Trojans and such. Ugh!

Ya, Mcafee wouldn't touch my trojan and so I lost out on the whole thing and had to buy and expensive Norton and Sweeper. Works now and have had no problems since. Continued good luck!

Not a bad idea, may be best seller ebook or sumn yeah, I had to send McAfee through the fixer several times to get it to act right! Whatever it was threw a few components out of whack and it was out for the count! Hopefully I got everything, we'll see! Taripre$

You could try trend micro's pc house call. It is an online virus/malware/spywar scanner/remover. I have had good luck with it in the past, though not every time. It depends what you picked up and how deeply embedded in your system it is. Sometimes, I just refmat and start clean because it's just simpler than digging and prying to get a stubborn piece of malware out of my system. Anyway, here is a link for house call, give it a shot. Best of luck to ya. ***NOT a referal/affilliate link*** : http://housecall.trendmicro.com/

I'm going to have to check them out, they have a cool name, sounds like it's good but so does Yugo and look where they went Just kidding, but I think my computer is ok now, though I'll still check that! I'm online, I'm going to always have an issue Taripre$

The best suggestion for you is re-format your pc and install a good antivirus and there is a software called deep freeze it freezes your executable drive and if there are other users to your pc other than you once you shut down and restart, poof.!! all downloads and uploads are gone if you want to download or upload all you have to do is give password for deep freeze and you can do the same there are two versions of deep freeze one version freezes your executable drive the other one freezes your whole pc...smiles...thanx

Hopefully the reformat thing don't have to happen, I may have to eventually though! As much as I don't want to, I guess that'll be the only thing that'll reassure a good cleansing of my system huh? Taripre$

If McAfee didn't get rid of all of it, try malwarebytes...

That was my issue, malwarebytes wouldn't launch for nothing, so I tried avg, and that didn't really do anything but move more trojans around! I ran McAfee again and I believe they're all quarantined now, haven't caught any lately, but I hope so! Taripre$

Why dont you try running malwarebytes? It's great for treating some malware like artemis and then run combofix. This two should fix your problems for good.

Now, that's one I haven't tried, combofix, may have to check that out! Thanx Jire, I'll look into that today, may be why my computer still freezes quite a bit! Taripre$
