I've been thinking about getting an electric lawn mower but not a corded one. I've been looking at the battery powered mowers like the Neuton and others but I don't really know if they will do the job and they're quite expensive. Does anyone out there use one? And the big question is, does anyone use one on the tough St. Augustine grass that we have down here in S. florida?

I don't have an electric lawnmower but the b/f bought an electric weedeater. It is actually battery operated. Is that the same? It works really good but it is important to have more than one battery if you have a decent sized yard. He has two. I think that an electric lawnmower would work pretty good but you would have to have enough power supply to meet your yard needs.

That's one of the things I was worried about. Not having enough juice to do the whole yard and then having to wait for it to recharge. Plus the grass down here in S. FL. is really tough. I sort of gave up on the idea and stuck with my gas mower. Thanks for the response!
