rejection of mylot tasks

In the past 2 days I have had 2 tasks rejected by MyLot. The reason is they do not meet criteria. They were 6 paragraphs or minimum 3 sentences. they covered the topic. There was no plagiarism involved. My grammar was good and so was my spelling.
I would think after I spend the time that not meeting criteria could be defined a bit better. what specific criteria was not met. My paragraphs were longer than 3 sentences. Was that the problem? Was it too much? Too complex?
I did many tasks before with 0 rejections.
ANyone else having similar problems?

Sorry it happened to you. I think perhaps the standard has been raised? I don't know.. but it might not be the reason that your paragraphs are longer than 3 sentences. Why not you try the other tasks, were they rejected too? Maybe there is a certain kind of requirement needed. As for the help words, do you use them all or just 1 or 2. The keywords, I mean. I read somewhere that someone used up all the keywords. Hopefully your future tasks won't be rejected.

i Used several of the keywords in both task but for the sake of good grammar I modified them.
If they really expect people to continue to write, they need a better way to tell us what the problem is.

I am the same way.
I was rejected twice at the begining of the
tasks and haven't even looked at them since then.
HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~

I was being accepted all of the time before. I have no problem with a rejection if I know what the actual problem is but I can't fix it when I am not told why.

I did my first six paragraph task and had no problem. It would help if they said what criteria. My six paragraphs were longer than requested. I do not work too hard at tasks, but like you, if I had rejections I would be wanting specifics.

Well, if it wasn't the length I am really puzzled. I guess these tasks are very subjective and maybe SharonBucks is being crabby.

That's kind of why I haven't ever tried any tasks. I don't want to put a lot of work into a task, and then have it rejected. And a whole lot of people jump on those tasks so quickly, that I could have one done and it would be too late. I know it is profitable for a lot of people on mylot, but I'd rather dedicate my internet time to sure things, like survey sites or even Gather (although I like mylot better than Gather).

You read the task, accept it, than write it. Tasks are staying out longer these days, I think because less people are attempting them. Maybe because of the high rejection rate.
I have earned over a $100 on the tasks.

I haven't had the brain power to do a task in the last several days, so I've not even tried. I've learned when the brain's not cooperating, it will be rejected!!!! The one thing I've learned is don't take any rejection personal. I'm sure she has specific needs & I'm just not meeting them!!! Is it frustrating...YES. Am I going to lose any sleep over it...NOOOO!!!! I will just try on another day & hope I do it better!!!!

I don't take it personally, I just want something more specific than does not meet criteria. I put a fair amount of time and hard work into them and it is not a learning experience like this.

I do see your point. I've never considered myself a writer so I'm seldom shocked when one is rejected.

I do not do a task unless I am comfortable with the title. I agree that without specifics you cannot learn how to do better.

I have completed more than 30 tasks since i joined in mylot two months ago,one of them was rejected.but i never try to do a writing task although,as we know,we may get more from them, because i heard many mylotters said that it is hard to complete such a task,it may be rejected even though you wrote carefully without grammar and spelling mistakes.

I have had 47 tasks approved. I think that was pretty good, Now I am getting rejections with doesn't meet criteria. I don't think that doesn't meet criteria is enough.

i dont accept writing taks usually coz i belive i will always get rejected.. it is not being pesimistic,, but i am afraid it will get rejected because the person who looks at it has a different eye than mine... it is useless after pending important time on an aritcle can see how it get rejected..

I havent ever done any of the my lot tasks so this is something that I really don't know anything about. I guess that I would be upset if I thought I had fulfilled the requirements for the task and got shot down. Maybe you should contact my lot and ask about it if they gave you no reason for the rejection.

The tasks are submitted by someone other than MyLot and they don't get involved in it.

I have had 47 approvals. Now in 2 days, I have got 2 rejections. I don't understand why. I guess I am going to have to formulate a new plan of attack.

Hey, Debs_place. I had exactly the same experience. I've completed over a hundred tasks with 0 rejection and as soon as I went for that $4 task, I got one (actually 3, since I took on 3 at once). It was very off-putting. I asked the task provider to specify which criterion I failed to meet, but never got a reply. I actually find that offensive. I mean, I was hoping all those past works would be acknowledged and that I would at least merit a response to my query. It was a valid question. What if I wanted to take some more of her tasks? At least, I'd know where I had gone wrong before (because like you, I reviewed and reviewed the requirements and to date I still believe I met all of them). I suppose I've lost confidence in this task provider, so I'm not taking any more of her tasks. Not that she'd care, of course, lol.

hi debs.. I've had mine rejected yesterday.. the reason was multiple grammatical errors and wrong use of words.. I was not sure where the grammatical errors was.. because I read and reread my submission a couple of times.. and it sounded good for me.. and I have never really known that we could misuse some words. lol. anyway, this is your first reejction right? Just try and try.. maybe the next one would be accepted again.

I am so sorry to hear this. I agree, it is truly disheartening when you invest time doing a particular task only to be rejected. I can feel you since I've had a share of my rejections with the task too. I also second your suggestion of providing more specific reasons instead of the vague "does not meet the specified" criteria. But i have an important tip to give anyone that is willing to do those mylot writing tasks. Take note of the second paragraph in the instructions, that reads:
"The content should pertain to the following description and help convey this specific message."
When most people enter the mylot task looking merely at the keywords, indeed there are some many things to write about the general topic. But this specific instruction will help guide you to write something about what the task creator truly wants from the keyword given. It will also help narrow down your research efforts and produce the article that the task provider needs. Hope that was of help

I was going to give a similar response to yours, abbypringles, so I'm just commenting here instead :) When the writing tasks were first offered, there was a topic and there were keywords. Only within the last month or so was the "specific message" added in the instructions. I'm not saying this is the case for the originating poster of this discussion but I do think that, for those of us that have been doing tasks since the feature was first created months ago, it's easy to miss when changes are made in the directions since we might get a bit "comfortable" and not really read through them each and every time.

I remember, too, that there were a lot of discussions created by people who kept saying that they didn't know what to write about... when there was just a topic and keywords, people were confused as to the expectations. Sometimes, having "open format" or being able to write anything is more difficult than writing to specifications, I guess.

I agree and maybe that is also the reason why the task creator decided to add in more specific instructions to help out all those willing to perform the task. It will save us both time (members from writing tasks and getting rejected for non-compliant submissions and the task creator from having to review all these submissions). Careful re-evaluation of the instructions won't hurt. After all, it will take only a few seconds as compared to wasting a full hour or so writing those rejected submissions.

This happened to me as well, despite me having years of experience in writing assignments of all types. I published the rejected article elsewhere and informed the task-giver of the matter. This was done deliberately to prevent my intellectual property being used illegitimately. Curiously, I too started a discussion on this topic, which has been removed from the listings.

I did one of those six paragraph tasks and was accepted without problems. My task was written like a cohesive article with six paragraphs that all made sense together, and many of my paragraphs were also longer than three sentences. I'm sorry that your submission was not accepted. Maybe you can ask the person who made the task to tell you specifically what the problem was with your submission.

I did several and they were accepted when the tasks first became available to us. Then I too had 2 rejected, and they said it was duplicate content! I write these types of assignments for another site all day, everyday and NEVER have I had a problem. I even paid for copyscape and checked them myself. I told them there was no way i would redo them and have not looked at a task since!

if you do enough tasks long enough you'll eventually get to rejection. There does not seem to be anywhere around that, so do not take it personally. I sometimes think it depends on who reviews your submission as well, whether there is just one person or not I do not know.
Do not take it personally as I am sure they did not give it personally when they rejected your work is just not did meet their criteria whatever that happened to be at the time. If you can keep the rejections down to about two or 3% you are probably doing well so do not get obsessed about it.
If you are still getting paid at four dollars a submission you are probably doing well. It takes a lot of posts on my lot to get four dollars.
I realize it is disappointing though to put in all that work getting rejected and not get paid.

Ya! it happens sometimes. But don't give up. Even I have a 80% of approved tasks. I think Mylot is great. There are practically lots of earnings potential with the writing tasks. I have made a total of $65 this month along just on writing tasks. Once I was running out of time so I didn't actually convey the specifics message in the writing tasks and was rejected. Which was expected.
Otherwise, so far almost all writing tasks that I submitted were accepted and the e-mail from mylot task creator with a message of approved submission is really hmmm sweet.
Happy mylotting.

The reason that you've given here is the exact reason that I haven't attempted a writing task. When I am writing, even if what I've written is ultimately rejected, I want to have it documented as to what I've done wrong. Exactly what I've done wrong, not just criteria not met, so that the next time I decide to try to write I will be able to not make the same mistakes again. Honestly, sometimes I feel like we are set up for failure in things like that and to me, being the perfectionist that I am, it really hurts.
