when my daughter went to college, i decided to get a puppy(labrador) as my buddy. I got him when he was two months old, now he's a year and a half. He's a golden lab, love's to play and eat. Once we played badminton with my friend, i end up doing brisk walking instead. why? he's more excited in getting the shuttle ck, and he's faster than us! Never have a dull moment with my buddy. He wakes me up 5:30am and the neighborhood knows him especially the kids. he'll be my buddy while my daughter is away from home. dog's are men's best friend? NO DOUBT ABOUT IT!!!!

Hello etheljane. It is true that dogs are man's best friend. When our kids are grown up and go to college, we parents may feel lonesome without their company. Then dogs can be very helpful to make us stay away from feeling lonesome. I wish you happy, friend.

Hi Etheljane, and welcome to mylot! Dogs and other pets can indeed be numbered among our best friends. They provide such good company, are always glad to see us, and never judge us :) I'm glad you have your wonderful buddy. It is hard when a child goes off to school! And the dog should help :)
Don't forget to add keywords to discussions you start when asked, so that others can see them and participate in them :) I will add a few to this one.
Have a beautiful day.

Hey Etheljane,
I know exactly how you feel. My wife and I recently bought a puppy too. He's a labrador as well. My favorite dog in the whole world!!! They're hard work (house training) but in the end they're worth it especially because they love you and always want to be with you. I love love dogs!!
