As a guy and not much of a talker I usually keep my calls relatively short and straight to the point. I do chat with my girlfriend for longer periods and we will talk about for 30 minutes approximately.
One day in last month my friend phoned me, we talked for 1 hour and 46 minutes. Luckily it was on his account. I didn`t realise how quickly the time went. We discussed girls and sport and thats about it. I actually felt a bit bad talking on his account for that long, but he did most of the talking.
Hope you all enjoy the day and happy mylotting!

I think the longest I had been on the phone was I'd say 12hrs or better with one of my bestfriends when I was in highschool. I can talk a persons ear off especially if we have not talked in some time even now.

I think women talk more over phone compared to men. The longest telephone conversation I had in my life is two hours continously. I talked to a friend, my former colleague. I used to work in night shifts at that time. So, it was difficult for me to get sleep during night time even on weekends. So, it was my habit to talk to friends to kill time. I had a special plan and the two hour converstation only cost 12 INR (30 cents).

hi, the longest call i made was more than 3 hours. and i often made or received a call more than 2 hours. when i was in college, my boyfriend and i lived in different city, we have to take 24 hours by train or 1.5 hours on air to see each other. but it was expensive to a student to take plane frequently. so we had to call each other and it lasted for 4 years.

hello MadMenace99,
well that depends where i am. when i am just here with my family, i talk to them 5 to 10 minutes only. but when the company assigned me abroad, it took me 1 hour at the most talking with them every night. so hard to be away from the family and doing this make me feel so relief.

I live far away from my family and closest friends, so it is pretty normal for me to talk to them for quite a while on the phone. My best friend and I can easily talk for 2 hours or more, and the same goes for my Mom and me. I guess it is a good thing that we are all capable of multi-tasking or we would get nothing done at all while we were on the phone.

Wow, you were able to talk on the phone for more than an hour? It really is unusual for a guy. That almost never happens among my guy friends. As for me, the longest call I had was 40minutes. I was talking to my best friend at that time. I had to end the call after 40 minutes because my cellphone's battery ran out. Also, my head aches when I am on the telephone longer than 30 minutes.

When my mom was still living I would call her and we sometimes would talk for 1 1/2 to 2 hours. I did not call every month so when I did we had lots to talk about. I do miss not being able to talk to her anymore.

Hmm. Is this through cellphone? I think with cellphone my longest is more that an hour, and that is because we have unlimited calls in our postpaid plan. With landline though, It's definitely longer, when I was still in highschool.. I was always using the phone.. my longest was I think 7 hours.. I talked to my friend all night and waited until there the sunrise,. that was when we slept because my parents would already be waking up. hahahaha.

I absolutely loathe talking on the phone, so you know there was something special between my now husband and I when we talked for four hours straight (from 12:30 at night until 4:30 in the morning) the night we met. Amazingly, I still didn't want to get off the phone, but he had work the next day, so after hanging up, I wrote a letter to him until about six that morning. Unknowingly to me until I saw him again the next day, he had written me a letter as well.

I woke up one morning and my phone was still in my hand. When I said hello because I saw it was still on and had been for 9 hours, I couldn't believe it RD woke up on the other end. I had fallen asleep and him to while talking on the phone. I know we had been talking a good 2 hours but after that I must have fallen asleep. Thank God it was a local call. Other wise my bill would have been hundreds.

Oh gosh, let me see...
Oh, now I remember! The longest phone call I've ever made was about 3-4 hours long! Me and my friend were playing this game called Stronghold Crusader. Anyone that has played it or any game in the genre, RTS (real-time strategy), then you'll know that it wasn't even that long for the task(s) we were performing. The gaming session lasted well over that though, and that's because my mom told me to hang up @ 2 o'clock in the morning. Man, that was so much fun. Oh, and we stayed up until around 6 a.m.
It was even worse because it was during the summer. My mom woke up at her usual 6 a.m. to get ready for work. She came into my room and told me that I had to go do my chores! This was after an entire night without sleep. My chores were done and I collapsed and slept for 14 hours!
I know I'm gonna miss these days soon.

there have been a rare few times that I've been on the phone for 3-4 or more hours for one call LOL....these days I like to try and keep calls short..I'm not much of a phone person anymore..though there are times when I'm talking to someone i've not talked to in a while and we'll chat it up for an hour or two...

Well it was many years ago, back when I was a teenager. I was talking to my boyfriend and we were attempting to talk all night. I think I fell asleep at about the 4 hour mark and so did he. When I woke up he was still there, but he was asleep. I could hear him breathing kind of loud but he was not talking because he was out. Shortly after my mom came and yelled at me and told me to get off the phone.

I grew up in a time when technology wasn't this advance yet. I was a notorious phone hog. I had an extension in my room and would talk to my friends for hours on end. We would talk about (uh, this will date me) New Kids on the Block, the shows we watched (*cough* Growing Pains! Saved by the Bell! Perfect Strangers! Wonder Years! etc. *cough*), the latest gossip, school, etc. When I got a bit older and started getting phone calls from boys, yeah, it was pretty much the whole night, lol. Good thing, phone calls weren't metered.

I too usually talk with my girlfriend. Sometimes when I start talking I forget everything keep on talking. Till date the longest conversation lasted for 2 hours and 5 minutes. It cost me about $0.27 on Vodafone. Its real cheap considering other networks. Sometimes I also talk with my friends for 30 minutes or so, but not that long.

I remembered all these long calls were made during dating. Cost quite a lot of money those days. I guessed it cost me hundreds to phone my wife who lives outstation then.Anyway, we cannot help it. We gotta pay if we want to phone.

Hi MadMenace,
The longest telephone call I have had would probably be an 1 hour 30 going on to 2 hours maybe. It was a few years ago with my now ex-boyfriend, though I do think that a lot of the time it was either him talking, or there was silence because I am not a great conversationalist, or telephone user lol. Most recently the longest call would probably have been an hour, but that was purely because he rang when I had a lot to say, and because I hadn't chatted to the person for a while so we could recount our life stories and kill time that way lol! The conversation could probably have lasted longer but he ran out of mobile phone credit, and my dad would have murdered me had I used the landline to call this person for too long, so the conversation had to be cut short!
Normally I don't like to use the phone though, so if I can the conversations are under 20 minutes, or even under 5 if it is the grandparents since they aren't great conversationalists either lol
All the best and welcome to mylot
