Question about a friends forum

I have a friend that has been trying to start up a forum. But she doesn't know which way to go. She is not sure if it should be a regular forum just for people come in and chat about every day things, or if she should start a work at home forum. I think a work at home forum would be best what is your opinion? Would you visit a forum if it was just about working from home, and starting your own business?
