I like to read poetry. In my childhood I wrote couple of poetries but later I did not find time and was satisfied only with reading. Do you like to read poetry? Can you write also?

Very nice of you to have a published book of poems. On what subject did you write your poetry Shibham, can we know about the book? Which language was it?

Hi there. I write in assamese, its a modern indian language. The name of the book is"SABDAR GHAR" In english it would be " house of words". There are more than 60 poems. Most of them are related to realism and the rest are belonged to romanticism. Take care. Lol.

I have written a little bit of pooetry over the years but nothing spectacular though. I like to read poetry sometimes if I have the time to. It has to be very interesting and appealing to me though.

Whether spectacular or not the reader has to say. May be you are under-estimating yourself. I feel like reading your poetry collection. I am sure they must be good.

I understand. When poetry comes in TV, when some one is reading, it looks good to listen to it.

i write songs. and the lyrics of the songs is poetry to me :) I love writing especially when something just pops into my head and i type it on my notes in my phone and finish it when i get home or whenever i get the chance. I think poetry is a good way to express how you feel and to explain things that happen to us. Reading is also a good way to enjoy poetry but i love writing better.

Good habit barbiejune. You can put forth your imagination and rhythemic words in writing. Because you all write only we are all able to read them. Keep writing.

I like to read poetry and I also write poems myself. I have written poems for many years, I started almost 20 years ago. I have two notebooks, one of the books contains the poems that I finished and the other book contains poems that I didn't finish yet. Some of it is just short lines that might become a poem one day. Some of poems are about myself, my experiences, my thoughts and my feelings. Other poems are based on new age stories that I have read. I love to read that kind of stories and sometimes I want to turn the stories into poems.

Hi Buchi_bulla: I sometimes read poetry but i else like to write. In my case, i feel the need of writing, it comes from life, my experience day by day. When we write we create beauty. Wouldn't this inspire you to keep working? But to write a good poem it's necessary to read at least 3

I agree with you. If we have to write, we have to read a lot. That will kindle our thought process.

my case is same like yours. When i was in my school days, i loved reading poetry more over i loved writing poems too. I was a newbie that time in that new field. But now time is the main reason which trobbles me in continuing poetry. So, now i only read poetries rather writing it and that too very rarely.

In both of our cases, we have passion to read poetry but time available is less at our disposal. May be when we have time, we will again take up the poetry at hand.
