what things do you do when its brown out???

hey acie.. I just read some books, or listen to my ipod when we don't have electricity. But when it's for a long time, we often play some board games if we're really really bored already.. cause you can't really do a lot when electricity is out, specially when it's dark already... When Ondoy hit, we didn't have electricity for 24 hours, we just played some music, and played board games.. that's about it.. it was really boring. hahahah.

Hi acie Well, so it's not only my country that have problem with electricity! I can do nothing! I can't study, it's extremely hot here without air conditioner and it's dark, many mosquitos! And candle is dangerous if it's fall in wooden material/furniture. Brown out can ruin all my plans and activities.. Since almost my task in college needs computer, then I can't do it My mom will angry if she feel hot, so there won't be nice conversation in brown out situation,,geezzz....

Where we live, we've never had to experience brown outs. However, we have had times (mostly during the winter) where the electricity will be out for a long period of time. I really don't like this at all because in our case it's been known to go on for days (the most recent one was eight days). The power outages like this are scary to me because it makes me feel so disconnected from the world. During short power outages that we experience during storms, I think it is neat to sit and listen to the storm but as far as during the extended power outages, we've invested in an invertor so that we can either have the television on to stay connected to the world or we can have a radio on.

When it's brownout we just stay inside the room with candlelight. Play with the kids and do some story telling. A good opportunity for bonding with the family. no TV, no computer, no distractions. I love it when it's brownout! I just hate it being warm... no electric, no aircon.

I have long cursed power plants for causing power interruptions at times when electricity is crucial! Such times include: taking a shower in the middle of the night, cooking, watching a season finale/ favorite show, when I'm myLotting (about to post a comment or a new discussion), etc. Whenever power interruptions occur, and I'm doing one of those stuff I listed above, you can hear a long and loud "NOOOOO!!!!! Curses!!!" from my room. As much as it sucks to have brown/black-outs, I try to find ways to keep myself busy and amused. I usually bring out my guitar and try to play and sing. Sometimes, I talk with my parents and laugh about whatever funny things have happened recently. I think that's about it :) Hahaha! Happy myLotting! :)

hehe brown outs? hmmm sometimes it is fun and sometimes it is not. I like to train myself to see in the dark that's what i like when sudden loss of electricity happens. My niece and nephew's sometimes cry and shout that's what i'm worried about when sudden darkness comes but as they shout i lol'ed so much haha! but for now it is okay, we are safe from the dark. because my father invented a home-made emergency light, battery powered and sure to last in 2 days. :). our neighbors would be surprised "hey why do they have light? even if the power is temporary gone?". And as the night get's deeper, we'll just chat and gather in the living room and wait for the power to come back. hehe that is all :)

If it's dark, i will be doing things i ought to be doing with my partner.. lol =D However that does not happen often over here.. haha =D Though brown out happened before, what i normally do will be finding my torch light, checking on my circuit box, to see if there's any trip.. If it's fine, i will know it's my block's problem, and i wont be able to solve it.. haha =D As such, i will be downstairs, together with my family, and chatting with frenz.. haha =D Because it's gonna be bored at home, since there's nothing we can do.. haha =D

hello friendship! definitely i hate it when there's no electricity...hehe coz there's a lot of mosquitoes and its hot w/out the electric fan....hehe when its brownout, what i just do is, specially when it still early, my husband & i go outside & talk to the people outside...huh! sometimes we just stay in the house talking with each other and singing anything even out of tune! hehe...and when its already night, we just go to bed & sleep early...huh!

It seems that this is a very difficult question because I live with the internet all day long. Well, perhaps, I will go to a place with lights like my workplace.anyway, I can stay there anytime 24 hours a day.I can sleep there any time.

if brown out happens at night,then we would just stay outside the house and talk with my neighbors, having dinner together with them outside, since it's very hot staying inside the house.

If it is during the day then we would just go outside or go to our favorite and meet friends there. If it is at night and dark I sometimes get my flashlight and a book and read until the electricity comes on or just go to bed.

hi acie, really it drives me crazy too, i can't afford to stay at a place with no electricity specially in the province, gosh i can't live there.. usually when the lights are out i usually do the talking one, the conversation in my family and of course texting the whole time..

I remember when I'm still a single, everytime brownout came, we used to play outside.. LOL.. I'm 20 that time but we are playing like children. We are playing different games that we knew, or games that we can do without using electricity. We're having fun! And at the same time, we're enjoying playing under the moonlight.

Sometimes I just sing songs to myself. If I am with someone, we usually just talk with each other or sings songs together. It also drives me crazy when it's brown out especially if I should be finishing my schoolworks by that time. I get irritated but, I know that I could do nothing but wait. Haha. Take care! :)

hello acie_21, same as yours. we stay at the terrace and have fun with the kids while waiting for the light to be back.

I sleep or text my friends most of the time and wait till the light is restores. Thus, i also like to light the candles or the candle lamp to brighten my homes. I also talk to my younger sister about ghost so she run to be with me as she is afraid of the dark.

I can still remembered when there was no electricity we used candles to light up. It was so romantic. We chatted and chatted until we used second candle to light up. Then electricity was installed and how we wished it could carry on in darkness. But then we have to carry our tv series.

I like brownout too. When I was just a kid we're fun playing with my neighbors if it is brownout. Since we can't watch TV we're having fun on playing hide and seek. I like brown out especially when it's full moon. I and my family usually stay outside the house when it's brownout. So if it's full moon and at the same time it's brownout we go outside and chatting with each others. playing games with my nephews and niece, and looking up in the sky watching the twinkling stars...

i usually go out of the house to get some air, or if the brownout will last for a couple of hours i go to the downtown, mall hopping , or just walk around the neighborhood to meet some friends and have a little talk.

I won't bother myself doing anything when there's a brownout. I would simply go to bed and sleep...hahhhahahaha
