Are dogs really human's best friend?

For me, I treat dogs as my best friend. They wont talk, wont cry, wont tell. They dont know how to express their feelings. Maybe in our life, some people treat them as toys and they may have more than one dog in their life. But have they ever thought that you are the all of your dog's life. What will they be if you abandon them? My father is very mean to my pet. I remember when my dog is still here, he always said my dog is so annoying that keep on barking. And the last few day of my dog, she feels very sick I know and keep on barking at night. My dad thought it was annoying but she barks because she couldnt move. And after my dog died, he just ask me how much it costs for the medicine and injection. And that's all. I dont know why he cant be so mean. Do you have a experience like I do? Or do you have a dog?
