Should marijuana be legalized finally?

With over 71 million members of the adult American public admitting to having used it at some point in their lives, and even our current president has admitted to using it regularly (and he even inhaled!), should we make marijuana legal for adult use, similar to alcohol?The scientific community is very nearly in agreement that the use of marijuana is extremely benign, and there has never been a death caused by marijuana in 12,000 years of recorded medical history. Francis young, an administrative judge who worked FOR the DEA, found that marijuana is one of the safest things a human can ingest, and even far safer than many of the foods we regularly consume. Is it time yet? Or is there still a legitimate reason why marijuana should stay illegal? I, personally, feel that I would rather my children smoked pot than drank alcohol or smoked cigarettes ANY day - and those are both legal! So help me out here, people - should it be legal? Or not?
