New PPVS, what's your take on them?

Just noticed that WWE has coming up with new pay per views these past few months. First it was "Breaking Point", where all of the matches were submission matches. Next was "Hell in a Cell", which featured all the matches in the "Hell in a Cell" structure, and now they will have "Bragging Rights". Personally, I think it's great that they have these new PPVs that feature something different. I just hope though that they continue with the usual ones that they have like "Summer Slam", "Royal Rumble", and "The Great American Bash".
Anyway, what's everyone's thought on these new PPVs?

Theyr'e all good, but the traditional ones like wrestlemania will always be the best. PPV's like wrestlemania have been great for many years and will continue to be great, but the new ones like hell in a cell are just a way for wwe to make more money. They get money from the PPV, they sell out a stadium on the sunday with more merchandise sold and they use it to boost the story line on raw and smackdown. Personally I think Breaking point and hell in a cell were really good ideas, but they need to be careful not to overdo it because it might take some of the interest away from the old ones.

hey nik!
i agree that the usual ones like wrestlemania, summerslam, and royal rumble are the better PPVs that WWE has. i also agree that WWE is churning out all these PPVs as a marketing ploy to get more money. LOL! can't blame vince, he needs the money since for him WWE is a business not just something for entertainment. the recent PPVs are good and different and yeah, WWE should never overdo it since it might lose its appeal to WWE fans.
thanks for participating!
cheers!!!

I do like the fact that they are trying to come up with something new. However, with these new PPVs, it seems as though they have decided to take an approach that I believe TNA has already proved to not be very successful. One of the problems TNA has been know for is that they used to have WAY too many gimmick matches. Yet, WWE is pretty much doing a very similar thing. "Hell in a Cell" (the match) used to be a very rare, and special match. WWE has made it more of an every day kinda of thing though now. "Breaking Point" to me, proves that although Vince McMahon does not want to admit it, WWE feels threatened for some odd reason by MMA. I would have been happy with "Bragging Rights" if it was just a Smackdown vs. Raw ppv...without the gimmick championship matches. Another thing that is becoming really annoying to me is that many WWE fans are now using "Breaking Point" as a another way to say that TNA only gets their ideas from WWE, because TNA happens to have "Turning Point". "Turning Point" has been around for years...

agree with your points psychogurl.
what used to be 'special matches' have been ordinary matches because of the recent PPVs. i shudder at the thought that there will be a PPV titled 'Elimination Chamber' LOL!!! anyway, the hell in a cell is always a favorite of mine and i did find the 'Hell in a Cell' PPV disappointing. 'Breaking Point' was also a nother PPV that didn't quite suit my taste although i like that the PPV had legacy winning over DX. don't get me wrong, i'm a DX fan but for them to win again over Legacy would be a bore.
anyway, i'm hoping that for the remainder of the year, WWE comes up with better and more exciting PPVs. just watched 'Bragging Rights' and i slept through it. it was that boring!!! i started a discussion about what i want to see in 'Bragging Rights' and modesty aside, i think my ending for the Team Raw vs Team Smackdown match was more exciting that what really transpired.
cheers!!!

I have watched the WWW PPV shows before but I haven't been into watching wrestling for a long time. My oldest daughter was babysitting a couple of rowdy boys that loved watching WWE and she kind of got hooked on it too..lol.. I think they will keep the older programs too. They have always done well. They are pretty expensive to rent though.

Thanks for participating in the discussion.
Yeah, PPVs are expensive. Here in Manila, one of the local cable channels show these PPVs so I don't have to shell out that much. They usually show these PPVs live in the morning and have a replay at primetime. They haven't given the schedule for WWE Bragging rights though but usually PPVs are shown here in Manila Monday morning at around 8:30 am and again at 9:00pm.
Cheers!!!

I think their trying to get more people to come and see the PPV's, who would want to see matches all night taking place in hell in a cell, or watching them submit... now its Smackdown vs Raw and in two months it will be TLC another way to get more money from us Lol .... i think they just want to change the style.. they've bin doing the same ppv's for years its nice to see some change.

i agree with you there. it seems that with the last few PPVs, wwe is catering to a specific theme. like what you said, hell in a cell matches and submission matches have been the theme. nothing wrong with it but hopefully, they come up with more variety in the next few PPVs. i wouldn't mind seeing a PPV with different types of matches. nothing like seeing a tlc match followed by a hell in a cell match with a submission match to boot.
thanks for participating.

It is nice to c that they r experimenting with new PPVs and new concepts. but it would be nice if they can reduce the PPVs to just 7 or 9 a year rather than 12.

I agree with you there. I appreciate the fact that WWE is trying to experiment with the PPVs and coem up with something new for the fans. About the number of PPVs, yeah it would be tiring to have a PPV every month and I do agree that quality is better than quantity. I think WWE should instead put up better matches in their regular shows that come up with PPVs every month or so.
Thanks for your inputs.
Cheers!!!
