Yes physical appearances do matter but I think it is so only initially. When you are head-over-heels in love with a person then I think gradually these physical attributes take a backseat, and the mental compatibility and affection that you share with your partner, becomes more important.I am talking about love and not infatuation.Even if a person is physically attractive, there are chances that he or she may not have an equally attractive mind and this is what may repel, rather than strengthen the bond. Also I feel that this word 'attractive' is relative. What may seem attractive to one may not appear so to another. It is ultimately the compatibility and mutual understanding that a couple shares which determines the attraction they will feel for each other in the course of their lives.I would always say that love, more than physical appeal would keep me attracted to my partner for the rest of my life.

For me, Physical appearance doesn't matter in choosing in a lifetime partner. There are many factors involved: family backgrounds, education, attitudes, cultures, etc. I do believe that choosing a lifetime partner depends upon your heart and your own way of thinking (brain, of course!) lol.
As of now, I can't choose the ultimate partner whom I would spend my whole life thru... Maybe time will come, I would realize that 'physical appearance' is one of the contributing factors in choosing a lifetime mate...
Thank you for posting your discussion. GBU!

physical appearance doesn't matter to me. all i want is that i can have an intelligent conversation with that man and has fair reasoning power because that means that he can solve problems that will come our way.
