I own two time shares. One is a fixed week and one is with points. I use to love the one that is a fixed week because it coordinated with the school spring break, but...our school decided to go on a new calendar and now we don't have that week off. I have been renting it out since we can't use it, but we are thinking of selling it now. The on with points is great. We use it every other year and we rent it out every other year. There is no better way to vacation than with a timeshare. You can travel to so many different locations and stay at beautiful resorts for a portion of the price.

we own just one, but we exchange with interval, and the great thing is that we can purchase getaway weeks at almost nothing in the off seasons. i think we paid 199 for a one bedroom in phoenix last september in a 5 star resort. we use our week that we purchased in orlando somewhere different every year,..and i purchased mine on ebay! the best deal i ever had!

Glad to hear that you love your time share. We are actually thinking of selling one of ours on ebay but didn't know if anyone actaully bought them off there. If you know anyone who wants one for $2000 let me know. Also, were there a ton of lawyer fees to get it transfered over?

My wife and I own one and we own tow with our children. I have been able to trade my blue (low demand week)for some very good locations until the last few years. We are more limited in our travel dates and seem to be traveling at prime time. I still think it is the way to travel. We are able to go with our family and not have to pay for two motel rooms. I am looking forward to when my wife retires and we can travel more.

It seems that you are happy with your timeshare. What do you own, resort I mean.

I do not own a timeshare but may be interested in owning one someday. My parents have a timeshare and they love it and do a lot of traveling. Sometimes I go with and sometimes not. What is it like to own one and is it expensive? Is it worth the investment?

Well if you are interested in buying at some point have I got a deal for you. You can pick from Las Vagas, Hawaii, or Branson Mo. My wife and I have been under the ether, I believed that is the term in the industry, three times and the operation was a success all three times. The sole reason we have three is they are all tied together with RCI for exchange points. With those points you can go any where in the world at any time that an exchange resort is availabe. We have used them but I am not at all sure it is worth it. If you are compelled to buy what ever you do buy one through a resale company. You will get the resort at a fraction of the original cost. And you almost always have room to negotiate. If your ever tempted to follow up on one of those three day vacations be sure you do one thing. When you go to their presentation put plugs in your ears. The only way you can win there is to do three things. Sit, listen, and walk. We bought one in Las Vegas that they were in the process of building. Very nice mock up of the condo and it was great. Now I could buy one of those for a forth of the price through resale.

You can usually find them for resale so they aren't as expensive as if you were to buy now. We paid $7000 for ours and the resale value is $13,000-$16,000. If you were to buy new, it is much more. They are a great investment once they are paid off. Then you only have to pay the maintence fees ~ around $650/yr and ours is every other yr. We figure, we could never go to a 5 star resort for a week for $650! If you are interested in purchasing one, let me know, I might be able to help you.

I don't own any timeshare, i think it is a good concept. There are too many timeshare methods out in market, and it is quite hard to select the best one which suit us.

I own two time shares week 52 (DECEMBER) and week 1 (jANUARY) Orlando. The maintenance fee were originaly About $350.00 each per year per week for about 4 years then they kepp going up and now they are $790.00 each per year. I think this is to much. We have tried to sell them and it is almost imposible. We did enjoy them but now they are too expensive to maintain. They al;so charge this year an additiona $580.00 for fixing them. We thought this weas included BUT IT IS NOT.
