How did you overcome COFFEE ADDICTION?

I am currently trying to avoid caffeine intake lately. Usually when I'm studying I need something to sip. A companion--this is the role of coffee during my college days and review-for-exams nights. I am aware though of the benefits of coffee but lately I just realized that I had to cut down my caffeine intake and eventually stop drinking coffee. So I opt now for Lipton Cranberry, Raspberry and Strawberry Tea. I haven't drunk coffee since last Saturday. Have you stopped drinking coffee? How did you do it?

I never was a coffee drinker although I love the smell of coffee. I get my caffeine boost from Coke which I consume a lot in a day. Of course, I have troubles sleeping at night because of too much caffeine. What I do is to stop drinking coke at least four hours before I go to bed and this practice usually helps.

During my coffee days back in college, I usually had problem sleeping at night so this was what I exactly did, too--drink coffee at least 4 hours before hitting the sheets. same worked for me. :) so it really takes 4 hours to dissipate all the caffeine to have a good sleep. thanks for sharing it.

Hi, Anne I am also trying to cut down on my coffee intake a day. From 3 to 5 cups a day, I can go as 2 cups a day now. What I do is try to drink more and more water, to avoid feeling sleepy at work. If my body says it's time for coffee, I make half a cup only. Surprisingly, my half-cup already satisfies my craving. Have a nice day!

I'm a 24/7 coffee drinker. I couldn't do cold turkey but I could probably wean myself off slowly but replacing my regular with decaf. I haven't done it yet though. I'm big on procrastination.

hi gerly! first of all, welcome to mylot! I hope you would enjoy it here. ;D haha. Just like you, I love coffee too. But ever since I discovered that it is one of the causes why I'm experiencing acid reflux once in a while, I decided to lessen my intake. You don't have to stop right away. Just take it slow and what you are doing is right, replace it with something else. ;D
