is it ok to fall in love with your colleague?

hi there!A friend of mine asked me an advice about this question because she is having trouble and confussion about this.He thinks that he is falling in love with this girl in there office but he also believe in the rule "not to commit with officemates".I told him that if he really love this girl then he will disregard his belief.I just want to give him more advice.So,If you are in his situation will you go for it and have a relationship or will stick to your beliefs??

love will just naturally comes in to a person and no one can dictate the feelings. so if he loves his colleague, then i think that it's just okay,and if they take it seriously one of them must look for another job in order to continue their love in an open way,.

Why do people not to commit with officemates? I am really confused when I hear of the rule for the first time.
If I am in his situation, perhaps I will go for it and stick to my beliefs. As far as I know, it is so common that people commit with officemates and fall love with her/him. If he really love the girl, just show his love to her and pursue the true love at once.
