When I applied credit card, I let my bank choose the card they will approve and give. I have Mastercard and so far I didn't encounter any problem using it. I believe all those cards mentioned (visa, masters, jcb, american express, diners, etc) are accepted world-wide.
For my supplementary card, I just pay P75.00 (Philippine peso) per month only whether you use or not. Normally the interest per month is 3% (I believe is the standard charge for the interest).
I don't plan to apply for another card as long as my existing credit card doesn't give me a problem, and have to since my card's validity is 2 years. :)

I have visa, master and amex but whichever it is, it proved useful especially when you need something and you don't have cash.

Hi, hitlesh
I have a Visa card.
It is indeed very convenient and accepted everywhere. I have not tried using it outside the country but what I like about it is that even small stores accept it. Because of this, I think one credit card is enough for me. I can manage my finances better plus I only get charged with one annual credit card fee.
Cheers!

I use both Visa & mastercard & hence never face any issue because both the cards are accepted everywhere.

For me, I used to have all and with so manybaks I tell you. So far, I have cancelled Diners club already and not using my AMEX card. For Visa and Master, it depends on where will I do the purchase because sometimes they prefer one over the other. I also maintain different banks as they offer some rebates on their selected merchants. For me, I do not see anything wrong having with credit cards as long as you know how to manage your finances. It gives you some leeway on your money as you will pay on your purchase after a month and that makes a bif difference. As long as you pay the monthly billing on time, there's no interest incurred and there's some that even allow you to accumulate reward points. It is not a bad deal right? Also, having credit cards give you a flexibility to purchase some things online.

if possible i don't want any credit cards at all but in todays world it is like a must already to have credit cards. it is like you are from nowhere if you don't have one. as of now i don't have any credit cards but because of my husband's nature of work we MUST get one. mastercard would just be fine coz we only use it online not offline.

Virtual, Visa like, credit cards.
I mean, you're placing this on the Internet section so I was guessing that you meant for use over the Internet, and since we don't need to own plastic to have a "Credit card" anymore.
In real life I plain and simple don't like the notion of credit cards. It's a wonderful way of getting in trouble through a number of ways and eventually when you notice it you may not be able to climb out of it.
For Internet shopping and otherwise, I either rely on Paypal or a national, virtual credit card system that we have that's tied to our bank account. Each operation costs roughly 50 cents, but what we get is a temporary (1 month) virtual credit card with a limited amount of money in it. You can use it as any other Visa card while online. Money can even be deposited into your account through it.
