Would you like to see your public library have Sunday hours?

Ever since I was in grade school I liked going to the public libary. Reading books has always been something I've enjoyed. Most public libaries have always had daytime hours. You can even find some libraries that have evening and Saturday hours as well. How would you feel if your public library were to begin having Sunday hours?

This is an interesting discussion, and I am sure that a lot of people use the public library,I have not been in the public library in a long time, but it is a nice place to borrow books from, and I think it would be nice if it had Sunday hours so that way people could go relax and read there,or borrow books and come home and relax and read since some people do not believe in doing work on Sundays and maybe one day me and my wife will go to the library and look for some books to read, since we are trying to read more and watch television less, have a great day, good luck with your life, and all of your mylotting goals ,and Happy Posting.

Well, in my country, i have libraries operating on sunday from 9am-9pm. i'm not sure whether others follow this, but i'm very glad of this as it meant that i have more time to persue my favourite interest, reading. :) i love reading, it helps me relax and enjoy something once in a while. other than sunday hours, what about the rest of the week? i think you'll have ample time to read books there too. :)

Our local library does open on Sundays, 10-4. I think that in the UK most do, and I think that it is a very good idea. It is supposed to be a leisure day, and what can be more leisurely than reading? It's good to be able to take your children there as well, which can be difficult on any other day.

We are very fortunate in Singapore. The libraries open on Sunday, and closes only for public holidays, which means close just eleven days in a year. The nearest library from my house is just a twenty minutes walk away. The library closes late at night, and I can go to the library after dinner. The only frustrating thing is that the collection of books, especially those in a series, is not complete in any library. You can have part 1 and 2 here, part 3 and 4 in next library.

I don't think it's such a good idea, because the library staff need time with their own families, and most libraries have at least one late evening a week and often a Saturday morning opening time to accommodate working people. I never go shopping on Sundays, and I wouldn't use the library then either. Not for any religious reasons, I just think Sunday should be a day to do something different, relaxing with the family or a special outing, rather than doing everyday things. In our family, Sunday is treated as a special day - going to the library does not qualify as special, although I love to read.

Public libraries on Sundays that sounds good. I wont go to public library regularly but once in a month because of my busy schedule. If they are open on Sundays also, people like me will be filled more in library rooms.
