Noynoy-Roxas, Chiz-Loren, Erap-Binay, Gibo-Noli. Thats I think are the aspiring presidential and vice-presidential candidates in the upcoming 2010 National Election here in the Philippines. As a Filipino citizen who is tired of all this trapos, dirty politics, vote buying, dagdag-bawas, hello Garci and other similar dirty tactics made by many of our candidates. Do you think that this upcoming election will spark a change in our Politics?

Well, I'm really hoping that it would change it, but looking at the names of those running... There is a big chance that it won't.. It's amazing how every election, you see the same last names over and over again.. Our country is controlled by a few families.. we really have to accept that. New comers don't really have a chance, unless your really good at what you do, and you look good at the same time. lol.
Let's just hope that the change we have always wanted will come from the people. I think if we would just wait until politics change itself, well, let's just say that the change will happen in my lifetime ( if it ever happen at all! ).

Whether our hope is gone or not this is still the Philippines, the motherland, you could say and I would really like to see some real change happen. I wonder when we can find a leader whom we would gladly follow because we know that they will actually lead us somewhere...

Yeah, like you I am hopeful but I doubt it could happen in my lifetime. I think people should start changing the face of politics should we want change, for one thing, people shouldn't vote those families with the same names. We've seen how their kin has been doing all our lives and a grandson or some other relative would certainly want to sit in power to continue the tradition of corruption.
I say we should learn from that mistake and not allow these people to sit in power. However, that's really very difficult because they're the ones with money and money motives most of the voters.
This is why I opened a topic asking "Should taxpayers be the only ones to vote?" because majority of the voters aren't really taxpayers nor were they ever contributing anyways to the society aside from giving society more problems.

hello Full thank,
which regards to this coming Election of 2010, it's going to be a BIg One because people need to be wise on who are they planning to vote in the Election. I am also glad that automation is on the way and ready for 2010 and as of this moment, it's still in the process of testing for possible flaws for them prepare for the real thing. am also tired of this election fraud doings most specially in tribal and rival heat places.
what i think of the Presidentiables?
Noynoy and Roxas - Yeah, they are very much Popular in the ratings and surveys but i believe that Noynoy is living up to his Families reputation in Politics, deciding to be President is not because the people want him, because it's their choice and because due to performance and not inheritance. Mar Roxas, as predicted, has a slot for the Vice Presidency, i only had wished Franscisco Pangilinan didn't give up the VP candicacy.
Chiz-Loren - He ain't that bad, I've seen in him pass laws with the help of his colleagues and he never take the credit on his own when ever he is asked or complemented for the Law passing, he's a good speak but i fear it could be another Obama in Philippines because all i see him do is talk. Loren never gave it up running again for the Vice President since he lost of NOli De Castro. we'll see to her performance if she wins.
Erap-BInay - Big Epic mistake if they ever vote for this man again, can he just let it go and give it to other younger presidentiables. he's too old for his generation and he's easily tricked and fooled by his own foloowers. BInay, I thought he was running for President? well, he did good in Makati since he has dealt with foreign business man, he might have a chance for foreign diplomacy or business conventions.
Gibo - I find him convincing, how ever he's running for the administration regarding this matter, he can also be doubtful if he has full interdependency if he becomes a president himself, he's in the situation with the administration, so i think he's got a chance, but winning not sure. I thought NOli has refused to run for VP candidacy when he put up with a bad impression with a big NO if he's going to be running mate...
It's a whole new Game, but i hope people are a lot more smart now.
I WOULD RATHER SEE THEM IN DEBATES..if not then, i might think not voting...

I totally agree with you when you said that KIKO shouldn't have given up his bid for vp.. Since he said that he would run, I was really sure that I would vote for him. BUt then this noynoy-mar thing happened.. I wish he could have just ran against Mar.. I liked him better. Lol.
Chiz - I like, but I think he is still too young, Loren on the other hand.. well, let's just say my ratings for chiz lowered when I heard that he was running with loren.. I.don't.like.her.at.all.

We will be hoping against hope. We want our country to get out of this mess we are in for such a long time and never seem to succeed. I have a feeling that the majority are fed up with the system. We really need to vote wisely and according to our consience. Filipinos should unite and make a stand against corruptions and inefficiency in government in all levels. We still have a chance, however slim it is. This is not the time to be complacent and indifferent.
enjoy!

Hope is the only thing we had now. But many of us still haven't really know the true meaning of election (I think). If I were living in the slum area of Metro Manila, or a remote area in the Phils., I would surely vote the politician who have reached my place. It may not that he gave me something, but of what I've heard on his "promises". Promises that never made into action if he/she wins. And what about those politicians running today? They're all the same faces I saw during the last two elections. Many are already fed-up, but still many are blind. Others say that education is the key, but how can we educate those people who are unsure of what to eat on the next meal? Will he/she votes for the person which he/she knows the best or the person who gave him/her a relief goods with his/her name written on it?

I have two answers for that. I hope so and I don't think so.With the current presidential lineup right now it is very difficult for us to choose who is the one that can change our country. Though Noynoy has a bit spark right now but I don't how long it will last. But we just hope and pray that we can achieve those dreams of a change in this country. We also do our part in this change that we want not just rely on the politicians but everyone has to help also.

I don't think it will ever change, unless we go through some total wipe out haha, but seriously speaking, I think Noynoy will win, but I wouldn't vote for him. A president who can't speak a single sentence without stuttering? he is very far from the way his father and mother were, they were great people. I think Kris would be better than Noynoy, haha, at least she has the guts. I would have voted for Mar Roxas for president, if he did not concede. The people would vote for Noynoy because he is the lesser evil, but not because they believe he will be a good president. I think I would vote for Theodoro, that is for the meantime, my decision can change until 2010 ^_^_^

I really do hope so but I have somewhat gotten tired already. I think history will just repeat itself if we, the whole nation, will not change for the better. It is a shame that every election, only the names and the faces change and not really the type of government. We really need a decent government but we also have to think that we as people cannot just rely on these elected people. We have to do our part. We demand change but we actually refuse to change ourselves for the better. We often blame a lot of other people for our misfortune instead of realizing that we actually contribute to the misery we are in. I think this time around, we should really try to help out each other, elected officials and ordinary citizens. We have to be united for once. It gets too tiring already that for every political term, only the faces of the seated people change but the scenario remains the same, we are divided! If a political party wins, it is only them who are happy and who benefit. The other party however gathers all their power to ruin the winning party. COmmon, isn't it time to support each other and think of the betterment of the country as a whole? We wish for our country to develop but we don't want our people to succeed and even love seeing them suffer. argh

Have read an article written by an international press asking these question:
"Why is it that politicians in the Philippines spend a lot of money just to be elected for a 50,000 salary job? Why is it that they ended up killing people just to got that position? But, we Filipinos already know the answer. And we never acted on it. Hope this time, change may come to all of us.

i am not so sure about that but i do hope that noynoy aquino will do what his parents exactly did. i am expecting him to do good because who would want to put a stain on their family's well-respected name. both his parents are considered heroes for what they have done for and contributed to the Philippines so i hope he'll do the best thing for the Filipinos and put us above his own desires.

I always hope for the best but based on previous elections, people only get excited during the campaign period because of the promises and money for the votes. But I think we're getting there, but definitely not 2010. We may change the leadership, but our problem is not in our leaders but in ourselves, Majority of the people lacks the ability to choose the right candidate and we're just too afraid to demand accountability.

i am fervently hoping that it will. you know, it's my first time to vote for presidential elections and i am hoping that something would really happen. it is not just about the people who are seated in the government but it is about the system as well. nothing would happen, no matter who's in command, if the people would remain to be as lousy as they'd been in the past years. some people who are working in the political arena, may it be local or national, are responsible for promoting change too. even if we elect a very good, efficient and capable president, politics would still be as dirty as ever if we do not cut off those little weeds that are polluting our government.
and by the way, i go for chiz. he's the right man for the position. ^^

you know i'm not even registered. but for the first time, i'm excited of the coming elections. i feel like hope is coming and that i'll have to vote! this time i will exercise my right and hope to be one of the millions that will help put the right person at the difficult task of governing our country. i'm not being patriotic here :D
i believe that Noynoy will continue what his parents have started. the country's economy is way too low to hope for economic growth but at least (in my opinion) he's not corrupt and he has genuine concern for the people.
Chiz is ...i think he's got the ability, political will and he's not corrupt too (also in my opinion).
Erap -- he's gotten his chance and i think he should not aspire again.
Gibo -- i don't even know him until now. according to a friend he's got the best qualification amongst the presidentiables. it's just that he's with the administration and i think people have allergic reactions with anything associated with the present administration hehehe!

The fight will be between the tandem of Noynoy-Roxas and Chiz-Loren...
That is my prediction, not only based on surveys, but on the feeling of the youth of the land. The youth want young ones to lead the country...

I don't know... Maybe, if GOD'S WILL. I hate politics!!! lol... Vote buying, graft and corruption are very rampant nowadays in our country... It depends upon our selves. The chAnge begins from your self, my self and themselves (POLITICIANS).We couldn't predict who will be the President, V-P, etc because there's still some miracles happen... I just hope that it wouldn't happen.

it's teodoro-puno, i think that's official. noli is yet to announce if he run either for president or seek reelection as vp. and add villar-revillame. hehe!
no, i don't think phil. politics will ever change especially with these names. these are the same political families, dynasties, trapos that have ruled phil. politics. we can't hope for any change in the system even if the leadership may change.

I don't know. Dirty politics is difficult to change. Temptations are everywhere in politics. Who can say no?, especially if the person is ambitious. I just hope that people vote the right person. We are the ones making the first step in changing the country. I just hope politicians will do the same thing also.
