Have you ever become aware of the fact you are feeling happy?

Have you ever been happy? I mean, very happy? Of course you were. But have you ever become aware of the fact that you are happy while, actually being happy? And if yes, have you ever tried to keep that happiness feeling for a longer time or it faded away in the moment you were 'looking' at that feeling? How? What did you do exactly? And what happened after? This is a particular case, but we can talk about any kind of good feeling or emotion you became aware of, while it was actually happening. How did your consciousness reacted, if you observed it and still remember the scene?

To be honest, I don't really know what "being happy" means. I've had moments when I realized that I AM, and these were the most peaceful moments in my life, but I don't think that's happiness. I've had other moments when I realized that I LOVE and these were the strongest and most "fulfilling" moments in my life. I don't think fulfilling is the best word for it, but I don't think there's any other word at all. You're asking us to explain some feelings into words which is the hardest thing to do, since this kind of feelings come from one place and words come from a completely different other place.
Regarding to the next question, yeah, I tried to make it last as much as possible but people need practice for that. We're so used to identify ourselves with our minds so much that it's become very hard to feel the basic and to live the moment. I take lessons from my cats, they are real masters in experimenting the NOW.
What happened after? I returned to my everyday identification with my mind, weakening it a little and for a short time, until the next time I WAS or I LOVED again.

Well, happy is when you have fun. For example, when you are laughing from all your heart or the very first second after the laughter had stop. Those are the moments I was talking about, but probably , when I wrote the post, I encountered that situation when is hard to decode your feelings into words. And, yeah, I agree it's a very long road. But every day you are better than yesterday, if you keep walking. And walking. Until you will love and be loved continuously and forever.

I like the idea of continuous and forever love. But I guess we still need to learn from the lack of it, to be able to appreciate it when it's obvious. Sometimes love itself finds a way to come up at the surface and invades you, so, for a brief moment you are bathing in love, but it's hard to hold on to that feeling when your army of thoughts comes rushing in.
In order to be truly and continuous and forever happy, people still need to control their biggest enemy/friend: their mind.

This happens to me all the time. I think it is not only important to feel happy, but to know that you are in fact, feeling happy. I feel this way when things go my way, but I also feel this way when they don't, but I've come up with a solution to the problem. In other words, I am happy when I can live with few difficulties even if things don't necessarily go my way.
