Innovation that Changed History??

What are some important inventions that have impacted our history, all over the world? I was thinking maybe sewers, and paved roads..? Also, I don't think that radars would be a bad idea, but I need an invention that changed the whole world, and I just need help getting ideas in.. I know plastic and gasoline, and etc. are very useful, but the topic I want to choose needs to be sort-of an uncommon idea? Please help me out here.. Thanks~~

I think wheel and fire are the two most important things to have shaped human history. Then of course electricity. These are the basic requirements which contributed to further development of a lot many things.

I don' think fire would be an invention, it just happened, and the wheel is very general i suppose, and electricity, is too popular? I thought maybe like sewers, because without sewers, we wouldn't have clean cities? And would probably have many diseases spreading? Thanks for answering!
