I will, and i want to go to the WC all the time, my hand will start sweating.. I envy those who can speak in the Public with so much confident on them, and they can give a speech anytime and anywhere. Can you do that? So, if you are nervous, what help you to calm down? To me, deep breath will help

Yes I will be. I’ve never been an extrovert and public speech was never my forte. I was and am still very shy if ever asked to say anything in front of a crowd. I just go red and then start stammering and forgetting what I want to say and the lines become further muddled in my head. Worse is that I cant find anything interesting to say at that very moment but later a lot of thoughts come to my mind and I feel that I could have said a lot many things.

I remember, when i was at school before, we do lots of reports and sometimes competition of speech, my hands and body were shaking and sometimes i stuttered lolz. But later on, i developed a self-confidence. But i can't avoid moving my hands more often and smile. Happy myloting.

I can't give a speech in public, I really can't. Anytime I tried to, I got so nervous that I eventually fainted and it was horrible, also because most people are so rude they end up laughing instead of worrying or something like that. I'll have to have some small public speech on Saturday at Univesity, right in front of a small group of classmates that take part in a laboratory about children litterature and I'm already starting to panic. I always tell myself that nothing will happen, I am NOT scared of having to talk in public, I'm only scared of passing out again in front of my class like it already happened ages ago. When I'm too anxious or agitated I take some pills of herbal stuff that's supposed to keep you calm, but it also makes you feel extremely sleepy which isn't the best choice If you have to talk to people and pay attention. I also tried deep breaths but it didn't work and since I'll have to see a psychologist for other problems I might ask her for a solution concerning this panic that I feel -.-

Hey, don't worry, you will be okay. I don't know if my method will help to solve your problem, my way is to take deep breath, not to take too much time. I only take one time deep breath before i get on stage and then smile. Then everything will be fine. Try it.

I hate talking in public, but i ahve to as part of my job! I do yoga breathing before hand to keep me calm and practice before hand, when i get a chance it is sometimes sprung on me. I find it easier if you remember that all the people watching are just the same as you, they just might know how to keep their nerves under wraps if they appear confident, but everyone has nerves. We are all the smae under the skin, think of the mnaked as they will look less powerful, or imagine them all as children. Remember, you are giving the speech as you have knowledge to impart, so they need you. Good luck

Yes, not just nervous but downright nervous. But I am wondering why I always got nervous when I was trained since grade school to stand in front of the large crowd confidently. Every end of the school year before, I had this morbid role of delivering a speech, a declamation piece, but after years of absence on stage, I developed this ridiculous habit of stammering and stuttering.

Ohh god i hate to give speech in public. I get nervous and my hand starts shaking which i just can't handle. Sometimes i take a peace of paper with me with some points written it in and when i start doing the speech with my hand the paper also starts shaking hehe. I try to show the confidence from my face but because of my hand all understand that i am very nervous which i hate. How many times i have given speech but i just can't get rid of them.

Oh yeah, not only when I need to speech in front of an audeince. I once had to play a guitar in front of my fellow students, and I couldn't stop shaking half an hour after that. It was aweful.

Oh yes! From elementary up to college I (actually many of my classmates) loves to participate in public speech or oral recitations or even group oratorical. Every time I participate, although I had practiced my speech I still got so nervous and my knees shake a little i guess that always happens in the beginning of the speech...but once you get the confidence and you get the hang of it....its all good. I think its normal though. Happy mylotting!

Until now, I still get nervous whenever I have to speak to a crowd. I am not working outside of the home anymore, so this has not been an issue with me for years. But, when it was an issue, I would often practice in front of the mirror, rehearse my speech and my gestures. I know, I was supposed to make eye contact with the audience but doing this just made me more nervous. Apart from practicing, I also made sure I get enough sleep the day before, eat something and drink a glass of water before I actually make my speech.

I am so shy I barely am able to speak to the cashier at the grocery store. I remember having to stand in front of the class to do an oral book report. I was so nervous I thought I was going to pass out and I ran out of the classroom. It was horrible.

No! But when I think I nervous I will be that's why I did not think the things that bother me when I speaks in public. I just think of the story pertaining my topics and I'm so glad to deliver it with excitement. And the people are happy. This coming Sunday I will speak again in pulpit. I love to speak in public even if by nature I'm introvert. But people likes me when I do speak and share my talents to others. I also love to do community service. Pausing is good, to prepare yourself for next line and people will back on focus when you pause. The silent will help, varying the tone of your voice is great. Share experiences or tell a story and you notice people are listening attentively. Have a great day.

Hi, With your discussion i remember my speech class before. Im not really gifted with public speaking but i pass the class because since i know its my weakness. i doubly even triple my effort in preparing myself for speeches and practice myself every now and then. But personally i believe that speech is still a gift. because it involve lots of natural gestures, tone of voice and how convincing you are and sounds sincerely in your topics. so better yet take time to pray so you will be blessed with confidence and effective speaker to be. hope it helps

deep breath is one solution obviously in this case...nervousness in many cases affect my performance on stage and due to it i can not give my 100% on the stage and i really need to overcome this...whenever i get nervous the my body gets heated and my hands become shaking..its really disturbs me a lot...

Giving a speech in public is not a skill, it an art that one have to learn. I haven't given speech in public but I have addressed more than 50 people many times. When first time I gave the speech I was very nervous. But over the period of time I learnt this art. To deal with this nervousness I used to prepare for the speech for long hours. And I always used to make a short written note of the speech. In which I used to write bullet points so that if in between the speech if I forget something I can refer to that note. But now after addressing people so many times I don't feel nervous when I have to give speech in public. It is the practice that can make a man perfect. You can also look for sites which provide training for public speaking. There are many sites which provide free material also.
