He is certainly a talented defender, I like his strength. But the fact that he has a good shot on him is nearly unheard of! It is brilliant to see him striding forward and crashing a drive home from 20 yards! Fantastic to watch and I'm a Man Utd fan I only wish our defenders would start doing the same:) Matthias Sammer for Germany used to score plenty of goals from his Sweeper position, but it is rare for Europeans to do it, normally we see the Brazilian defenders charging into the penalty area! I want to see more of it happening:D:D

This guy has been a revelation to arsenal's side. No one expected this guy to perform in such a manner. I would rate him as one of very good defenders that arsenal have got . His aerial ability is top class and his finishing in the goal is outstanding. atch out for him as he gains experience under the likes of arsene wenger.

I like the look of this guy Vermaelen. He adds steel to the back four and forms a good combo with Gallas. And then on the edge of the box he provides a clinical finisher who does not mind taking a long range effort, something which has really been missing in the Arsenal of the gunners for too long. i think once again, arsenal fans mut thanks to Wenger. he can create Thomas vermaelen from the usual back to be superb back.before he is in arsenal, many of us never know vermaelen, even he is belgian national players, but now? everyone know he is one of the superb defender in Premiere League. he can replace very well Kolo Toure after toure is moving to City.
